A new slideshow software with realtime Ken Burns effect21 Sep 2006 20:16 GMT11
I would like to introduce here my new software for displaying your
photos as a slideshow. It uses Pixel Shader technology to add Ken Burns
/ fade-in / Sepia effects in realtime. These fancy effects now don't
need any process of building into DVD or EXE files. Upon my
dvd backup problem21 Sep 2006 20:08 GMT9
I have stored approx 3000 jpegs on dvds using SONIC RECORD. They are in
hundreds of folders and after burning each dvd I have picked two folders
from each dvd and opened the files to make sure the images are readable.  So
far so good, but today I discovered that there are ...
Leica M821 Sep 2006 20:04 GMT38
Announced today, pre-Photokina, along with two new M system lenses
(along with the bogus claim that these are special 'digital' lenses,
but what the heck). So much for RichA's assertion that Photokina this
year is a 'disappointment.'
$1800 full frame dSLR within 18 months?21 Sep 2006 19:58 GMT32
Prices of dSLR cameras have been going down precipitously.  Just to put
things in perspective, consider how fast things changed in a few short
years:

Color calibration okay -- R1800 prints way too dark -- HELP!21 Sep 2006 18:42 GMT4
FEBRUARY...
I bought an Epson R1800 printer.  After calibrating a 20" iMac with a
Spyder2 and a few days of trial and error I had the system producing
"gorgeous" prints (according to a few pro photographers and printers

Faulty Camera or Faulty Photographer?21 Sep 2006 05:55 GMT40
I've uploaded some pics (link at bottom) I took today with my Canon
S2IS. Since I bought it about 3 months ago, I noticed that it would
often yield blown highlights. Anything with sun shining on it, or
anything with sky, would result in the nasty 255,255,255 areas. In order
Can an SD card be formatted to a different capacity?21 Sep 2006 05:08 GMT28
This will seem like an odd question, but is there any way I can take a
128MB SD card and format it to a lower capacity, like 64MB?
I know, you are asking why in the world I'd want to do so:  well, for
some reason my PDA, which I use to look at photos and show to others,
What is your lightweight SLR travel kit?21 Sep 2006 00:13 GMT52
I'm finding that I don't carry my SLR as much as I should because of the
weight. I'm curious - what are others carrying for a lightweight travel
kit and what do you consider an optimum lightweight setup? I would use
this kit while traveling as a tourist and while hiking.
