Canon A700 and alkaline batteries28 Aug 2006 22:41 GMT11
I'm looking for a replacement camera to my old A40, its primary use will be
long bicycle trips to various places, often with little access to any
services. So it has be a camera, that will operate reasonably well with
standard AA alkaline batteries, which my old A40 perfectly does. ...
Q flash ?28 Aug 2006 22:09 GMT1
I want to know if you can use the Quantum Q-flash with a Rebel XT  and if so
how good is the flash compared to a canon flash.
user review of Canon 400D, 50 mm f/1.2 L and 70-200 f/4 L IS28 Aug 2006 22:01 GMT4
Some interesting stuff on the sensor cleaning feature, Canon's probable
lack of a 1D or 1Ds replacement in Sept, and assorted other opinions.

Newbie: Keep the camera assembled or not?28 Aug 2006 18:01 GMT8
I'm completely newbie and recently bought d70s by the suggestion here.
I have ROWI camera bag like <http://www.tamrac.com/images/5371m.jpg>
and I'm not a regular user. I would like to know if it's ok to keep the
camera assembled (battery, lens, memory card) for a long time (when not
cheap lenses - Sigma 28-200 hyperzoom, etc28 Aug 2006 17:26 GMT5
Help me out here....
I have never been a proponent of the idea of having a bunch of cheap
lenses for carrying around, and expensive ones for your serious work.
So many of my favorite images were captured while walking around
What "white-balance" has least light blockage?28 Aug 2006 16:12 GMT2
Another low-light photography question... I assume that one setting of
white-balance (sunny day, cloudy day, tungsten light, flourescent light,
etc) attempts to collect all available light; and that other settings
result from reducing one or more portions of the visible spectrum.  ...
Curious results from camera test.28 Aug 2006 16:01 GMT6
I have an "OlympusE500 digital" with a
wideangle Zuiko lens connected.
I put the camera on a tripod and set it in
one fixed direction on an overcast day, and
Sony DSC-S3028 Aug 2006 11:23 GMT2

turn off and was in Demo mode. I was able to turn off the Demo mode,
but now the camera won't turn off and the only way to do so is take out
the Lithium battery and unplug the cammera.
Any chance of me fixing my broken Minolta A1?28 Aug 2006 05:05 GMT5
My Minolta A1 has started playing up.  Either the screen goes white
(and the pictures come out white) or the screen is OK but when I take
the pictures they come out with purple lines going through them.  I
presume paying someone to repair it would work out at more than I could

A friend is going through a messy divorce and his solicitor has
suggested that he take some digital pictures of his garden that are
"timestamped".
What would count?

inside pictures28 Aug 2006 01:55 GMT3
I shot some inside pictures at a bithday party. They came out with a dark
background. How do photographers get photographs that look evenly lit. I am
using a Rebel XT with a 7500 promaster flash with a flash bracket.
Thanks for any info to help me.
