Nikon 80-200 f/2.8ED AF, Push-Pull Stiff...08 Aug 2006 16:46 GMT1
I recently acquired a mint Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8ED AF, push-pull zoom lens.
The "push-pull" is somewhat stiff, yet very smooth.  Is there an easy way to
loosen it up a little, or will this occur naturally after use.  I was told
it had been sitting for a long time.
Looking for 2:3 ratio camera08 Aug 2006 16:34 GMT3
hi I'm looking to buy a mid-range digital for my senior parents, I know
they will want to do prints and won't want to mess with cropping before
printing, so want one that offers 2:3 ratio.
Are there any Canon's that do this? I see the new Panasonic TZ-1offers
Newer memory stick compatability with Cybershot P71?08 Aug 2006 16:06 GMT3
I am shopping for some additional media for my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P71
digital camera, and I see that Sony's line of Memory Stick media
products has changed a bit since I last purchased some.  I see that
there is now Memory Stick Pro, which almost certainly will NOT work

Also, what items did you use for the camera?
DPI and PPI08 Aug 2006 15:38 GMT69
I have a somewhat technical question about PPI and DPI. I'll do my
best to ask my question as clearly as possible. I understand that all
digital cameras take images at 72 PPI which is similar to 72 DPI?
However according to Microsoft Office Picture Manager the images that I

Black&White photo techniques08 Aug 2006 14:34 GMT12
I'm looking for websites or book recommendations for Black&White
techniques either taken by a DSLR or 36mm film. The books and webpages
I find always focus on darkroom techniques and that is not what I'm
after as I scan the negatives and handle them digitally.
Olympus C-5000 in Bright Daylight08 Aug 2006 14:05 GMT2
I was wondering if anyone could please suggest the proper settings for
this camera when photographing in bright daylight in the Caribbean--
bright white sand and blue water. Have been practicing outdoors at home
shooting scenery-- grass and trees and the photos many times come out
Camera choices08 Aug 2006 12:30 GMT7
Hi I am looking at digital cameras and was wondering if the Sony
Cyber-shot H2 was worth getting. I am an aircraft enthusiast, wanting
pictures of them and would like to know if cameras of this type are
suitable. Also if the optical zoom is 12x, I have been told this is
Striking tonal range in B&W images - How?08 Aug 2006 10:43 GMT3
I have yet to figure out how people get black and white images with a
bathtub shaped histogram where they are very black and very white
without being full of mid-tones.
I've heavily edited & tweaked a thousand or two images by now and

Kodak Z740 - Thoughts and Questions about Lenses08 Aug 2006 01:11 GMT1
I saw that someone posted a couple of weeks ago asking about the Kodak
Z740.
I've had one since December '05, and I am extremely happy with the
camera.  It takes amazingly clear and sharp pictures.  As I put it,
