| Battery life on the road | 13 Aug 2006 08:08 GMT | 15 |
There's a bit of a preamble to the question, but I'll try not to bore you to tears. I've done a great deal of travel to some very out-of-the-way places over the years, for periods of 2 weeks to 18 months. In all that time, I've used an

Anyone else heard of this rumour of a 100-400 F4L IS? http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/436358/0 Sounds good. Also, means that you could use a 1.4X converter and not lose autofocus.

| When To Use Black And White | 12 Aug 2006 15:07 GMT | 13 |
Some photos look better in black and white than they do in colour, however I am yet to understand why. Does anyone know of a way of judging which photos would look better in black and white, without converting the photo and seeing the results?

Approx three years ago I bought a Sony DSC-V1, and been quite happy with hit. Just came back from a family holiday in Cornwall, and this morning downloaded the holiday pics to the PC. Horror, really strange, some almost psychedelic. Others OK, but most are out of focus or

| The Tale of the Traveling Nikon | 12 Aug 2006 03:57 GMT | 31 |
Once upon a time a lady found a digital camera on a downtown park bench. She happened to work in my office and since she knew nothing about cameras asked me if it was any good or worth keeping. Sadly, it was a Nikon Coolpix 4100, a 4MP piece of junk hardly worth saving. The
