I'd like to measure the dynamic range of my digicam. How would I go about it? Are there special targets for this? Lots of Greetings!

For quite a few years, I stayed with the Sony DSC-D770 and its pro twin, the DKC-FP3. I refused to upgrade because the cameras were not the limit on what I wanted to do. My skill was. Most of my earlier work in film was large or medium format, so I actually knew the difference.

There seems to be a million ways to sharpen images in Photoshop. Anyone know of a good tried and tested method? The below method of oversharpening the image and then using Edit>Fade seems a simple/effective way of sharpening:

Newbie to digital photography here. Recently retired and recently a Grandpa for the first time. Have used a digital camera for the past 5 years or so at school but only for webpages and printing. The camera was an Olympus C700, I think. Had no problems with it.

Recently bought a Canon IXUS 60 to replace my old Sony DSC P1 Cybershot. Very happy with it, but have hit a serious snag. Just downloaded photos from holiday. All JPGs OK. But there's something wrong with the handful of short AVI movie files.
