buying a camera31 Aug 2006 02:19 GMT11
O.K.  I know hardly anything about cameras.  I want to buy a digital
camera with at least 5px. and good zooming.  And pay 2-300.00 dollars.
I want to take pic inside, outside, anywhere, anytime.  I'm so excited.
So you can imagine how many pic. I'll be taking.  So, I guess battery
A Step Backward ?30 Aug 2006 23:47 GMT163
What's happened to cameras ?
Camera design's been taken over by computer geeks.
It's like they've forgotten the refinements in 75 years
of camera development.
Win XP and replacement for MGI Photosuite 430 Aug 2006 23:39 GMT9
On my Win ME computer I was very happy with MGI Photosuite 4
I recently got Win XP w/SP2.
I would normally want to install MGI on it,
but read that SP2 on WIn XP might cause problems.
Camera software with object detection capability?30 Aug 2006 20:45 GMT3
Do any consumer digital cameras come with remote control software
which can "watch" the image area and take a picture when an object
enters or moves in a selected area? Or, might there be software from
other sources that can do this for some camera models?
PBase issues?30 Aug 2006 20:16 GMT8
Anyone else getting incredibly poor connections to PBase of late?
Seems like it's taking minutes to open galleries, make changes, upload,
delete, etc.  My style sheets were all jacked up today, too...fixed
itself, but it seems like things are a mess over there right now.

The latest issue of digtal camera buyer carries a review of the OLYMPUS

White Balance & Gray Card30 Aug 2006 18:28 GMT43
What's the difference between using a gray card with film and using
white balance with digital?  Why not use a gray card with digital?
Forgive me if I sound stupid but it's still a mystery to me.  Thanks
for your reply.

Anyone have a manual for a Tamron Adaptall II 2x SP BBAR MC
Teleconverter?  Model 01F.
If you have a spare, or can scan it, I'd appreciate having a manual for
this adapter.  Called Tamron yesterday, and they don't have them

How pros archive their photos?30 Aug 2006 16:03 GMT22
A friend of mine who shoots wedding photos asked me this questions and
not being a pro myself I gave the standard common methods like backing
up in external hard disk enclosures, and burning multiple copies on DVD
disks, but I am not sure if this is what pros do.
Noob editing help needed please30 Aug 2006 15:48 GMT20
Below are some links to an image I took on holiday
I was crouched down taking some dodgy clichéd pics of driftwood when I
realised I was about to get run over by something tearing down the beach!
Had about 3 or 4 seconds to take the shot so I'm pretty chuffed that I

My question is using a polariser somewhere very bright and sunny like the
