Compact Flash only for high end now?24 Jul 2006 23:38 GMT3
My old Canon A80 died (it got wet -- salt water) and as I look into
replacing it, I see that Canon appears to have switched from CF to SD,
except for the high end dSLRs.  What's the reason for this (if, in
fact, it is true)?
Aspect Ratio and photo album habits24 Jul 2006 21:50 GMT9
I think I may have made a big mistake.  I am upgrading from an ancient
Kodak DC280 and just ordered a Canon Powershot S2.  I take photos of my
family, my vacation, etc.  I print them using snapfish, etc at 4x6 and
put them in photo albums.  That's basically my entire usage.
Nikon 80-200 f2.8/ED AF & D70s?24 Jul 2006 21:14 GMT2
I picked up an older Nikon 80-200MM, f2.8/ED AF Push-Pull Zoom today in
absolute mint condition.  I plan to use it with my D70s.  I'm concerned
about the weight of this lens, and the plastic body of my D70s.  This lens
is the one that does not have the tripod mount on it.  Would ...
Canon SD400 battery charger with European voltage?24 Jul 2006 18:46 GMT2
I bought my SD400 here in the US. The battery charger indicates
100V-240V on the sticker. Doest that mean I can also use it in Europe
without a voltage adapter?

Smartfocus of HP, help24 Jul 2006 17:10 GMT15
Is there anybody out there trying the "smartfocus" function of HP?
"Smartfocus" was announced to be a success among the Real Life
technology that HP includes in new modern digital cameras and inkjet
printers. I am trying this function in my  HP photosmart 8250. Before
Good "mini" photo Studio anyone?  for eBay...24 Jul 2006 16:09 GMT9
Has anyone made their own or have purchased their own "studio" for
taking pictures for smaller items to put on eBay?  I like to get 2-3
good pictures of my items, but I haven't been 100% happy with my
results.  Is there any company that sells a "mini" version of a photo
Photographing 16mm Movie Film Frames24 Jul 2006 15:59 GMT1
I am making good progress on the 16 mm movie film digitizer I am putting
together. I need to get slightly closer to the projector output lens than
the projector case will permit. If I turn the Canon G2 90 degrees it will go
where I need it.However now the image will be rotated 90 ...

Canon powershot s70 or s80???24 Jul 2006 09:02 GMT6
I'm having a tough decision here. Do you guys think the s80 is worth
the extra money? Or would it be wiser to save the money and get the
s70?
If you guys would like to suggest a viable alternative to either, that
Help..out of memory24 Jul 2006 08:48 GMT8
I have an Hp/Compaq presario, I have a slideshow for my son's wedding on Photoshop elements. I was just doing some last minute editing and now I can't open it. It says Memory error on a box which on the inside says "out of memory". I tried to go to the files and copying all files ...
Nikon Capture NX; created NEF file won't import into PS CS2..?24 Jul 2006 08:05 GMT4
I've been playing around a little with Nikon's Capture NX, and I notice
that when I save a file as a .NEF file, this file won't subsequently
import into Photoshop CS2; I was hoping it would open CS2's RAW window
as any ordinary NEF file would, but instead I get a "Could not ...
Print Quality questions24 Jul 2006 05:10 GMT8
Is it best to check your photos at the store before you pay for them to
make sure the quality is ok? No one I know has ever done that but today
when I went to pick up my prints, I saw a sign that the lab was having
problems with the equipment so they couldn't process any pictures. ...
