Re-sizing high res pictures30 Jul 2006 03:05 GMT9
I am taking pictures for a website at 2560x1920 px, and then re-sizing
them to 448x336 px before uploading them to the website so they do not
take up a customer's entire screen when viewed on the site.  Am I
losing quality in the photos?  Also, is this just a waste of card space?
Olympus Lens Cover Closure29 Jul 2006 22:07 GMT3
I have an Olympus Stylus 400 and loved it until now.
After I open the sliding lens cover, sometimes the lens retracts back into
the camera. It's as if I had started to close it, but I didn't.
Any one have this problem? Any suggestions?

Camera with movable LCD screen?29 Jul 2006 18:26 GMT16
I don't currently own a digital camera, I'm looking for one now in order
to take photographs of documents for research purposes because carrying
around a flat bed scanner is just too unwieldy. I'm unable to stand up to
take the photographs and need a camera with a movable screen ...
Difference between USM and non-USM EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 III29 Jul 2006 18:19 GMT8
I'm in the market to get an EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 III lens for my 30D.
However, I'm seeing two versions of this lens being sold: a USM version,
and a non-USM version.
For reference:

Sony Alpha DSLR-A100K is rated 7.5/10 on CNET  and other reviews also
seem to have very good comments on Sony Alpha DSLR-A100K.
Has any one tried this first hand? Any opinions?

Pentax K100D Digital SLR - any experiences with this model?29 Jul 2006 15:53 GMT9
Anyone in the group tried the K100D out?  Looking at the specs, it's
supposed to have a new "Shake Reduction" feature that moves the sensor
within the body rather than messing about inside the lenses.  Sounds
intersting.  http://www.pentaxslr.com/bodies/k100
Max write speed of Canon PowerShot SD700 IS?29 Jul 2006 15:02 GMT4
I am seriously considering getting the Canon PowerShot SD700 IS so now
i am thinking about memory. I don't want to spend extra (like for a
SanDisk Extreme III) if the mem wildly exceeds the camera's write
speed. So would something like SanDisk Ultra II still top the SD700 max
ISO 1600 or lower?29 Jul 2006 14:24 GMT3
I'm a beginner to digital photograpy. So have mercy :)
Just bought my first digital reflex, an EOS 350D. Fantastic camera.
After a few days of practicing on "auto" I now take pictures in the
P-mode. And trying to tune the camera with my personel settings.
Max size of SD memory card for Canon PowerShot A70029 Jul 2006 09:49 GMT2
Will Canon PowerShot A700 work with 2GB SD card?
Esp. with SD Sandisk Ultra II 2 GB?
I've heard that with Kingston SD cards, this camera works
up to 1 GB.

These guys are considered good luck in Hawaii, on the main land they
seem to just sell car insurance.
