Ricoh Caplio R3 and R417 Jul 2006 04:06 GMT20
A friend is convinced that the R3 or R4 is the camera she should buy.
She hasn't seen the results from either.  It's not my of way of making
decisions.
However, I just can't find any reviews of these two models.
camera with high dynamic range ??17 Jul 2006 02:49 GMT18
I would like to buy a compact or pocketable P&S camera. It should have
a high sensitivity, so that I could shoot the night scenes in the city
with excellent quality. I heard that FujiFilm FinePix F10/F11/F30 has a
good CCD sensor allowing to shoot in dark... however, I never held it
Panasonic DMC-LX117 Jul 2006 02:00 GMT5
Greeting all, I've never before owned a digital camera, but have
finally decided to get one. After much research, I think I may have
found the best one for me, the Panasonic DMC-LX1.
My criteria, not necessarily in this order, are:

Filter Handbooks Online17 Jul 2006 00:30 GMT3
I stumbled across some useful material yesterday.
1:  A PDF online version of the 67-page B+W Filter Handbook, on the
Schneider Optics web site.  The complete B+W line-up is there, along with
examples of suggested applications of their various filter types.  Much of
Rebel Flash / Lighting Issue  -- My latest test -- sorry about the confusion...16 Jul 2006 22:49 GMT2
I am really sorry, something is messed up with outlook on my computer or
something, it seems to have posted my last message completely out of order
in the thread.  So I just though I would edit it and report it so that it
can actually be found.  I am sorry again for the repost ...
Sensor sizes16 Jul 2006 22:27 GMT8
I often see these expressed like this: '1/1.8"'. Does this mean it is 1" x
1.8"?
That particular sensor is from the Canon PowerShot A620, a P&S camera.
The sensor in the same maker's EOS 5D dSLR is described as "full frame". I

SD Card - do I format?16 Jul 2006 08:48 GMT11
Just got myself a 2 GB high speed SD card to replace the miserly 16 MB
that came with my Canon IXUS 60. But after taking a test shot, when I
tried to read it with my card reader I got a message "The disk in
drive K is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?"
Anyone install Nikon Capture NX yet?16 Jul 2006 08:40 GMT25
Nikon's Capture NX came out today.  I downloaded it but didn't install
it yet.  I want to know how the install went on a Windows XP platform.
If you installed it and you already have Nikon Capture Editor 4.4, can
you have both NX and Editor installed?  Or, does NX want to overwrite

20D NEVER STRIKES OUT !16 Jul 2006 05:11 GMT3
Another night at the old ball yard tonight, but the great shots were
far and few between.
Perhaps the 1-0 pitching duel had something to do with it, or maybe it
was the 90º heat.
