| Photographing an iPAQ (PDA) screen | 06 Jun 2006 18:54 GMT | 19 |
I have an hp 4150 iPAQ PDA from which I am trying to take a photograph. I've got a digital camera which is all I have used so far, but results are pretty poor to say the least. The bottom 2 of these four photos are from the iPAQ.

| RAW and quickly viewable pictures | 06 Jun 2006 16:52 GMT | 11 |
I'm looking for a tool that would quickly give me JPEGs from my RAW images so that I can show them to people interested in my trip and not so interested in seeing the best picture possible. I intend on spending a lot of time with the RAW images worth it, of course. Any

Yes, I continued to be amazed at the level of quality delivered by the Canon 5D at ISO 3200: http://home.comcast.net/~xelbon/pipes.jpg (in the bowels of the Midway in San Diego)

I have a FugiFilm FinePix 210 camera (3.2 megapixels). I would like to expand my photography skills. I've already taken the camera off Auoto and am using the camera's manual settings. I was looking at the camera's White Balance settings. The icons denoting "sunshine",

Is anybody using SIlkypix? I downloaded it and am using it at the moment, and it seems quite good, better than RSE in quality (less artifacts, better colours), its noise reduction isn't too bad, its sharpening is ok and it seems to allow easier overall image fine-tuning

What's the best way to get a sepia effect using Photoshop? I thought it would be easy. Nothing I try looks right.

| Red Spot on Nikon D70 pics at ISO 1600 | 06 Jun 2006 01:28 GMT | 4 |
I normally take pics at FINE JPEG setting, LARGE size. Recently, I noticed that when I take pics at ISO 1600, there was a red spot with white center; the spot was almost circular about 2-3 mm diameter. It was placed at about 1/6th of the total length from the left and 1/4th

| SLR vs Compact - Sensor sizes and Quality | 06 Jun 2006 00:16 GMT | 21 |
I have the Nikon D70 and I'm thinking of scaling back down to a compact for convenience purposes. I'm a previous Coolpix series owner and loved the swivel style cameras. I'm not a very serious photographer and like all the gadgets such as scene modes, movie mode, etc.

| Hyperfocal Distances | 05 Jun 2006 23:22 GMT | 5 |
Does anyone have a way to set "today's" lenses to their hyperfocal distance? In the "old" days most lenses had a depth of field scale which enabled the user to easily set the hyperfocal distance. As far as I can see today's auto focus lenses have no such scale and therefore no ...

| New dslr from Canon | 05 Jun 2006 22:47 GMT | 3 |
When should it arrive? Someone said that a new digital rebel will be probably announced this august, considering that the rebel xt will be, at that time 18 months old (moore's law?)

| Diopters and "apparent focusing distance" | 05 Jun 2006 22:14 GMT | 3 |
Like many people in middle and and beyond, I have difficulty focusing with my eye's lens. Basically, my eyeglasses do the focusing. With my street glasses, infinity is sharp; closer than about 20 feet, it gets fuzzy.

| Nikon Coolpix 2500, is there a work-alike? | 05 Jun 2006 22:12 GMT | 1 |
Hi, folks, I need to replace a Nikon Coolpix 2500 for my wife. She was very comfortable with that camera, but in general she is not comfortable with new gadgets. So, I would like to replace it with the same camera,
