Hi all, I have just returned from hols and downloaded all my pictures on to
the PC only to discover some pics plus a couple of video clips are missing,
The missing ones I did at one stage play back and were on the canon camera

Canon Rebel XT vs 30D10 Jun 2006 16:52 GMT21
I'm debating between the  Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and EOS 30D.  I'm an
intermediate who used a film SLR many years ago but got into digitals for
convenience.
My current camera is a Canon PowerShot G3 which I love but feel like I'm

Editing EXIF,IPTC.... data10 Jun 2006 16:14 GMT2
What to use, must handle multiple files, maybe batch editing and that it
is very light and don't take much resources. I tryed
portfolio,cs2,fotostation, but those are to complex for my use, need
something quick that can handle multiple photos at once.
transition from film to digital SLR?10 Jun 2006 15:20 GMT56
I'm an amateur nature photographer who enjoys landscape photography.
I've been shooting slides for decades. I've been hesitant to switch to
digital because the samples I've seen haven't shown the same level of
detail as slow speed slides. I'm now trying to figure out whether to
best way to burn pics to cd?10 Jun 2006 15:11 GMT13
for showing on a dvd player? My mother in law has a few discs someone
sent her but they won't play on her player. One is done with picasa
and the other is just jpg. She had another one with a similar problem
and someone else fixed it for her, so I know it can be done, but don't
Sigma 10-20mm wide angle stretching issues10 Jun 2006 11:26 GMT9
I purchased the Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens, and it a wonderful lens in most
every way, and for sure incredibly wide.
What I was not expecting however is how much it stretches things in the
photographs towards the edges.  Even up at 14 or 17 mm, it still stretches

Resampling the answer?10 Jun 2006 05:14 GMT3
Hi, folks...I'm new here and have a question.  A friend of mine is
finishing work on a history of a southern city.  She recently had the
opportunity to scan a number of one-of-a-kind documents and photos, all
of which are now back in the hands of the people kind enough to share

An interesting excercise. Photographing the same object (a sculpture in
a downtown Chicago park) at different times of the year:

Any professors/instructors/teachers here?10 Jun 2006 03:22 GMT51
I have been teaching digital photography in my community and have found
PowerPoint to be particularly effective in this effort.  Is there a need for
a commercial presentation of this type?
Thanks for any comments.
cheaper superzoom10 Jun 2006 01:55 GMT16
Currently have an Oly C-730, looking to get a 5M superzoom for under
$300, with Image Stablization. I'm looking at Pana FZ5 and KM Z5. I'm
reading that the former has better quality pics, but most of my photos
would be for computer use and I print VERY few photos, so not sure how
