| D2X v D200 | 12 Jun 2006 01:59 GMT | 28 |
I'm writing a grant proposal for Big Brothers Big Sisters to mentor children of incarcerated parents. I'm including in the budget a line item for a camera. I'm debating whether a Nikon D2X is worth the extra money versus a D200.

| lens cap & strap | 11 Jun 2006 23:00 GMT | 2 |
I bought a slim UV filter without front thread. I have a few issues with that. It's not snug. it's hard to put it on when the lenshood is attached. A simple task of reversing the hood is a hassle. I don't think there are solutions but perhaps someone may...

| Mounting Canon 70-200 On Tripod | 11 Jun 2006 22:52 GMT | 16 |
This is a really naive question, however I bought a 70-200 because I want to handhold with decent shutter speeds in fairly low light. However, I noticed that it has a strange tripod fixing. I had a quick look around the internet and there were 'Wibley heads' of

| Fake SanDisk SD card seems fine | 11 Jun 2006 20:44 GMT | 5 |
Famous last words perhaps, but the 1gb Sandisk Ultra 2 card that I bought for next to nothing seems fine. It shows up as 990mb on the camera and it says I can take 468 shots or something. I took a hundred or so and a couple of videos onto it today as a test and it all seems

Using the Nikon D70.... I already have an SB-600 that I use off the camera from Commander mode. If I wanted to add another flash unit and 2 (both) off the camera on tripods from Commander mode, is that possible with buying another SB-600 or do I need at least one of the units to ...

| Minolta -> Sony | 11 Jun 2006 16:19 GMT | 1 |
It looks like Sony is bringing over more than just the lens. Their HVL-F56AM and HVL-F36AM flash units look like rebranded 5600HS and 3600HS Minolta units. The only question is will the mounts be compatible? I wonder the the A100 will be able to mount the current

Does anyone know if the Pentax SLRs can use tethered shooting (or something of that effect) so that images can be shot directly onto a pc, bypassing the memory card.

Ok This might sound stupid but here goes... I have just been given a Nikon D50 camera and for the life of me I cant work out how to delete (all at once) any pictures taken. I can delete them one at a time or by using a card reader delete from there, I have read the

| Cannon Printers | 11 Jun 2006 00:58 GMT | 37 |
Has anyone seen any prints from the Cannon PIXMA Pro 9500 or the PRO9000 printers? I currently have an Epson 2200 and R800 printers and I am looking to upgrade. I have held off because the 2400 still has some issues with gloss. Granted, there a lot better but not quite

| Appearance of the TIFF v. RAW | 10 Jun 2006 21:37 GMT | 18 |
When exporting a RAW file to TIFF, should the TIFF look exactly like the RAW file, in terms of color, clarity, sharpness, etc.? It seems my TIFFs are a little dull, somewhat "hazy" I guess you would say. Curves, color adjustments, background highlights, and sharpening bring
