Collages for Fathers16 Jun 2006 20:28 GMT1
Many people know the second Sunday of May is Mother's Day, but most of
them forget the third Sunday of June is Father's Day. So, guys, don't
forget it this year.
Best wishes to my father and all the fathers.
Macro setting on a Canon S1 IS16 Jun 2006 20:24 GMT5
Does anyone know of a setting on the Canon S1 IS that is similar to
a macro setting on other cameras.  I'm not very familiar with
setting but could find nothing labeled macro on the settings.
Any help would be appreciated...
Canon S2 IS movie mode16 Jun 2006 20:01 GMT15
I've read a bunch of reviews of the S2 IS and am confused as to whether
the optical zoom functions while in movie mode. A few reviews state
that only the digital zoom can be used in movie mode while other
reviews don't differentiate. Can someone with an S2 IS clear this up
Kodak P850 or Canon S2?16 Jun 2006 19:59 GMT9
Looking at Canon S2 and Kodak P850.  Has anyne compared them?  Positive or
negative comments about either?
They both seem to have about the same features.  Anyone know how well the
movie mode compares?
Lens Magnification?16 Jun 2006 19:00 GMT5
Anyone know what difference lens magnification makes to a lens?
I heard someone say "Max magnification for the 24-105 is 0.23x, compared to
0.29x for the 24-70 (both at the tele end)." and am interested to know what
this means in the real world.
Any opinions on Canon Powershot A410, A520, or A530?16 Jun 2006 18:37 GMT3
I'm about to buy my first digital and am leaning toward the Canon
Powershots named above, partly due to cost (under $200 including the
memory card) and partly out of laziness (I've been using Canon SLRs for
about 20 years).
dslr:  canon vs. minolta16 Jun 2006 18:36 GMT44
I have been shooting film for years, but know nothing about digital.  I need
a camera that has a quick response time and will take pics of a good enough
quality to blow up to large size prints (20 x 30 posters).  I currently have
a Minolta 35mm SLR and many lenses for it.  I have ...
Sony A100 - shortcomings16 Jun 2006 17:15 GMT22
While of course glad that the camera is in the birthing process and that
it is somewhat up to date in sensor pixel count, I can't help but see
what's missing from it:  (Please correct any errors I may have made).

Calculating lens capability?16 Jun 2006 01:50 GMT3
A friend gave me some Kenko Extension Tubes - 36mm, 20mm, and 12mm -
for doing macro photography using regular lenses.
How do I determine which extensions or combinations of extensions to
use?  I've got  a 28-135mm, 75-200mm, and 18-55mm lens...

Canon S3 exif (iso)15 Jun 2006 21:58 GMT8
I have a Canon S3 that I just picked up and started looking at the
exif data.  The ISO is not recorded that I can see.
My workflow is:  take pictures, put card in card reader, copy to hard
drive using (windows xp) file manager.
