The End for Manual Control?19 Jun 2006 17:08 GMT53
After owning a Panasonic TZ1 for a while now I haven't missed the loss of
manual controls f-stop or shutter-speed and am very pleased with the various
pre-programmed scene modes. Will software like the TZ1 uses eventually make
the old concept of manual control obsolete? Is there ...
workflow software that doesn't modify original JPEG19 Jun 2006 16:57 GMT10
I'm testing out a new compact Canon A620 that I recently purchased. With
a previous P&S, I made duplicate copies whenever I edited. There's so
much post-processing work needed that it becomes a pain to resave images
and I'm always concerned that I'll overwrite the original. Can ...

Wide angle for architectural interiors19 Jun 2006 16:01 GMT16
I'm currently using the Canon 24-70mm at the wide end to do
architectural interiors. Then, I use PhotoShop to correct the
distortion. The problem is that by the time the distortion is
corrected, so much of the image has to be cropped that I may as well
NiMh specs19 Jun 2006 16:00 GMT15
why is it that manufacturers now love to over emphasis the capacity of NiMh
batteries
I buy Gold Peak GP and written on them in huge numerals is 2600 yet when you
go searching they state 2500mA.
Fuji  S 900019 Jun 2006 15:07 GMT9
Hi, this is my first post here.
I'm here to see if anyone has a opinion on the Fuji S9000 camera. I'm
looking for a camera that can take good macro images and does a
reasonable job at reproducing colors in flowers. I already asked on some
d70 spot19 Jun 2006 14:33 GMT14
I have a spot that keeps appearing on my images.   I have to remove them
with my image editing software.  The problem is that I blow some air into
the front of the camera, presumably blowing away the dust particle,  and can
then take about a dozen shots after which the spot ...

Bluetooth Camera?19 Jun 2006 09:27 GMT4
I have not seen any wireless cameras.  Has anyone seen a camera with
Bluetooth in it?  That way you could download pictures without plugging in a
cable.  I'm not sure what speeds Bluetooth is capable of though.  Maybe not
fast enough?
Canon S3 and vertical19 Jun 2006 07:20 GMT6
I have the new S3 and was under the impression that if you tilt the camera
90 degrees and take a shot, it has a sensor that knows to store the picture
vertically on the card.  I took several and they all showed sideways when I
viewed them on the card.
maybe stupid question...19 Jun 2006 07:18 GMT23
As owner of Canon S2, i wonder if any compact camera in this class (so, this
means top-of-the-range compact models) have better (meaning bigger) flash so
it would be effective on a bit longer distances, not just 2-3m, or at least
hot-shoe for connecting external one with wire.. ...

Dell Printers18 Jun 2006 22:34 GMT2
I recently purchased a new Dell computer system and receive as a bonus
a "free" Dell Personal All-in-One Printer A920.  I understand that
Dell printers are actually made by Lexmark.  Anyone using an A920 for
photo work?  If so, what sort of luck are you having?
