Recently my Nikon D1X seems to be washing out
whites in daylight, have any of you encountered this problem at all?,
all other colours are reproduced well but whites are completely washed
out.
Getting the predictions right.20 Jun 2006 17:10 GMT1
It is interesting to look back at the threads from around 10 years ago
and see what people were predicting for digital photography in the
future.   There were a lot of people who were way out to lunch but
there were a number of people who pretty much came in right on the

adjust color temperature with IrfanView20 Jun 2006 15:59 GMT1
I'm not a big fan of Picasa, but I really love its Color Temperature
adjuster. It works really well for fixing photos that look too cold
(blue) or warm (yellow) due to lighting conditions.
Since IrfanView is my image viewer/editor of choice, does anyone know a
OUT TO LUNCH WITH THE 20D !20 Jun 2006 15:43 GMT9
Well sports fans, it was back to work as usual today after a one week

my vacation pics later this week).
Anyways, I managed to squeeze off a few during my lunch break:
Panorama photography / widely variable light - solution??20 Jun 2006 14:35 GMT9
If I take my D70 outside and do a full 360 pano shot with the Panosaurus head,
having determined the nodal point of the Tokina 12-24mm, man it is fantastic.
Works perfectly; I stick them all in Smoky City Panorama Factory, and output a
.MOV and its really beautiful.

zoom of sb60020 Jun 2006 07:24 GMT17
I am puzzled by the auto-zoom feature of the Nikon SB-600. I use it
with a Nikon D200 and 18-200mm (effectively 27-300mm)  lens and it
seems that the focal length on the lens is the same as the one shown on
the flash.
photo computers: dual core, dual cpu, or single?20 Jun 2006 07:13 GMT21
I'm looking at upgrading my computer system to handle my
digital photo work.  I run photoshop cs2 plus other applications.
In looking at computers, I see a lot of dual cpu and dual core
