I have an old Mac (G3 OS9.2.2). I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT. Currenlty I just the large JPEG format since I can't open RAW format. The software I got form Canon works on OS X. I'm going to be getting a new computer, but not for a number months.

Just tried to transfer a few pics and got message that the disk is not formatted. I've previously transferred pics from this camera with no problems, does this mean the media has somehow become corrupted? If I click OK to format, I'll lose the pics in the camera?

A popular phrase for small point and shoot cameras is "pocket camera". I've seen a number of posts in this newsgroup that indicates this is a literal use (as opposed to say, a pocket battleship), that is, they actually put the camera in their pocket on a routine basis.
