I have been looking for many hours for a photo management software, but
have found nothing that suits my needs.
Perhaps you could tell me what you use and why, or perhaps even suggest
me something.

Comparison Sigma 18-50 & Tamron 17-5027 May 2006 19:30 GMT2
Has anyone seen a decent comparison of the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC and
the Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD.  Barring that, how about just a
thorough lens review of the Tamron lens.

Scanner vs Camera.27 May 2006 15:07 GMT5
The popular wisdom is that a flatbed scanner is no match for a good
Digicam as regards resolution, color purity, density range etc., etc.
I think this must be qualified. It depends on what the subject is.
I think that a large continuous tone subject like an 8 x 10 oil
Pixxass.de Info27 May 2006 13:15 GMT4

Thinking of a used Canon Eos DSLR27 May 2006 12:59 GMT5
The CMV of a used D60 body looks attractive (~$350 US).
Any reason why I should avoid the D60 in favor of a newer 6mp model ?
I have a file Eos and can use the EF lenses I already have, hence my choice
of Canon.
Macro Photography Question27 May 2006 12:29 GMT10
I just purchased a Sigma lens, more for the zoom for the Nikon D-50 than for
the macro.  But since it has a macro option - what exactly is this used for,
other than shooting flowers and bugs?  thanks in advance
DNG27 May 2006 09:30 GMT5
I have a question about DNG format. Is this simply a replacement for
RAW? Converting all RAW to DNG and archiving? Or is it a replacement
for tiff as well? Meaning is it better to just convert to DNG and work
with that file in Photoshop instead of TIFF? I hope this makes sense.

SanDisk Ultra II cf expected speeds26 May 2006 22:23 GMT11
I recently purchased a 2 GB SanDisk Ultra II compact flash card from a
reputable dealer.  On  the packaging it claims 9 MB/s read and 10 MB/s
write speeds (60x and 66x respectively).
However, so far I've only gotten 1 MB/s speeds transferring files in
Circular Polarising Filters26 May 2006 18:47 GMT10
Can anyone tell me if it is worthwhile an amateur buying one of the more
expensive filters - i.e. Hoya do a range of three from about £20-£30 up to
over £100 in the 67mm size?  The main difference to me seems to be more
coatings, or am I missing something?
Nikon CoolPix S5- .mov transfer back to camera26 May 2006 18:04 GMT4
Is there some way I can send an .mov back to the camera and play it?
I have only been able to do this with .jpg's successfully.
Pretty good camera, with the exception of what looks like a dust
particle, probably stuck inside the lens compartment or perhaps it's
