Have a Sony TRV480 Camcorder that records in Digital 8.  It can also play
Hi8 and Standard 8mm.  What type of video resolutions would the camera be
recording/viewing in for these modes, I see nothing in the manual about
this?  Is Digital 8 better then Hi8?

I realize that I should add captions, and organize it a bit better, but
apart from that I'm fairly pleased with the way fotopic allows them to
be displayed. Notice that the full 5 MP pictures are available by
casio z850 or canon a700?30 May 2006 15:02 GMT1
Hi there, I realize they are different size cameras and one is 6mp (6X
zoom) and one is 8mp (3X zoom), but basically they are exactly the
same price (here in Vancouver) and both do everything we want a camera
to do (including manual f-stop and shutter). The Casio is made in

I was in Big Lots (a department store that sells heavily discounted items)
and bought a View-Master with 8 reels - 1930s, 1940s, 1950s... . I hadn't
looked through one in a long time - decades - and I'd forgotten how
impressive the 3D effect is. I wonder why nobody has made an ...

I must say, they're pretty interesting to use. I think they are a bit
easier to work with on the D200 than the D70, because of the manual lens
support plus the better viewfinder.

Interenet printing sucks!30 May 2006 09:19 GMT4
Yes, I'm just ticked off by the internet printing!
Why is it that every time you click to print one page, you always get an
extra page of 1 or two pages with nothing on it? It always prints just an
extra web address info or something that you didn't ask for. So from a pack

I would like to replace the CRT monitor  I have at the moment (a viewsonic
17"). Any recommendations on 21" CRTs. I'm not sure if there is a LCD model
that will be as "good" as a CRT for picture editing.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Plastic lenses and Boob jobs30 May 2006 05:40 GMT4
You can dream about them all you want, drool over the prospects, relish the
size/weight difference.
Neither are workable in RL. ;)

Vivitar VIVICAM 8400 - any info?30 May 2006 03:07 GMT3
This camera is being sold by RadioShack for $179.99 - (reg $299.99) and
seems to be only available in the US through RS.   It's not on the US
Vivitar webpage, but is on several "overseas" versions - UK & Canada
(via another distributer).
Newbie buying Nikon D50 SLR Digital Camera30 May 2006 02:31 GMT12
Photgraphy is an avocation I enjoy.   I owned a Koday D740 for about 2
years.  That was the most advanced digital camera I've owned.  Took
lots of family pix, I also like to take pix of motorcycle racing.  So
having fast processing and fast frames per second is important.

I am looking at a Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 lens for sports, basically high
school football, basketball, etc. Some for printing most for websites, I
will be on the field.
We need to split the group again!29 May 2006 22:29 GMT9
The most popular thread these days seems to be about automobiles. I
already subscribe to an automobile group- I don't need the posts here!
How about we split:  rec.photo.digital.automotive and
rec.photo.digital.non-automotive?
