My wife and I have just returned from a cruise to Alaska, where we both

I am incharge of the editing and compiling of the photos of my class
trip yesterday.
We went to the beach for the photo-taking session this time.
However, many of the photos were taken against the sun, meaning that

I am using a 5 MP Canon Digital camera.
It is set to the highest resolution 2592x1194 and Superfine mode.
When I retrieve the pictures into a photo editing program, like Photo Shop,
the size of the photo is approximately 11"x14".

I've been using Olympus OM stuff for years. I've been putting of ebaying it
for ages and ages but now that I have in my possession a Lumix DMZ-FZ7 I'm
wondering about filters (and still clutching at the OM....).
Sadly all my OM filters are 49mm and the Lumix takes 52mm filters. ...

I was just thinking, and I realised I actually have no idea how auto focus
works on my Canon DSLR.
