Canon S3 IS woth the price?17 May 2006 08:57 GMT11
I have been contemplating purchasing the Canon S3 IS for quite some
time now. I want something that a beginner as well as an intermediate
user coud appreciate within the $450 - $500 range. The reviews so far
tout it as a good choice. Are there any Canon S3 owners out there?

Protecting the lens17 May 2006 06:34 GMT27
Anyone use an UV filter to protect the lens? And does using such a
filter effect the F stop on a DSLR and fool the electronics? May sound
like a pretty basic question, sorry!

Can Canon 5D take advantage of hi speed CF cards?17 May 2006 00:13 GMT15
Anyone know the answer? I guess there is read speed - useful for review
and downloading - but write acceleration will speed up capture, I would
presume, if the camera can take advantage.
I have a 10D, which I believes works just as well with slower cards, but

Slide feeder performance16 May 2006 21:03 GMT4
I'm interested in purchasing a film scanner for a video transfer
business. I've narrowed the choices to the Nikon LS-2000 (used),
LS-5000ED (new) or a Minolta Image Scan Elite-5400. The Nikon's use the
model SF-210 slide feeder and the Minolta uses the SC-100. Are there any

Image quality on .mac (dot mac)16 May 2006 16:07 GMT4
I recently switched to Mac and opted for their very expensive .mac
service. My problem is that it looks like all the images I upload get
washed and have like a grayish feel to them. They lack in contrast and
range compared with the images as viewed from the original files. I use
