Nikon Coolscan III vs Minolta Dimage Scan Elite II18 May 2006 21:00 GMT8
I have come across these two scanners (used), and am planning to get
one of them to scan-in the 35mm negatives and slides that I have
created over years. Any suggestions on which one to choose? Technically
they seem to be similar - any experiences - comparative information

Scanning B&W18 May 2006 15:40 GMT1
I plan to scan some black and white negs on an Imacon 848 very soon,
but despite my best efforts, I can't find info on the best method. I
have well exposed 6x6 negs on either Delta 100 or FP4. I don't think
that the specific type of neg should matter, but you never know. I hope

Nikon 460018 May 2006 12:57 GMT2
I bought my wife this camera because she needed something easy to use. I
have a friend who had a similar Nikon (another coolpix) and she had no
problems with it.
Needless to say, we've been disappointed with the 4600. It is difficult

camera or lens?18 May 2006 03:43 GMT32
Just thinking about whether camera or lens is more important in photo
capture. Take the top three (with pricing differences) Canon or Nikon
digital SLR's. Use the same lenses on all of them. Not measuring speed
differences of various individual camera components - how much
Problem emailing photos18 May 2006 02:57 GMT16
New digital camera, first one.  When I email pictures as attachments,
the recipients receive a thumbnail in the email but when they try to
view them or save them to the computer, they get a message that says
"failed to load photo" on a blank black screen.
Laptop calibration and brightness settings???18 May 2006 02:51 GMT2
I just got the Eye Display 2, and I used its basic setup to calibrate
my laptop. I'm now wondering if I did two things correctly...
First, I did it in a room that was positively dark except for the
laptop.

Battery question before I tear a new one into a camera company.17 May 2006 23:33 GMT8
Hey got a quick question on batteries. I was 'offered' a deal on what
even as he spoke I assumed to be a bait a switch tactic from a internet
company called 'prestige camera'.
Needed to phone in to confirm mailing address. Once on I got nailed
Date/Time display on pictures17 May 2006 20:04 GMT3
I have a Panasonic DMC-LC43 and trying to figure out how I can get the
date/time to display on the picture on my computer once I have sync'd
it from the camera. Is this possible??
I know I can see this on the camera itself, but want to print them from
Nikon 18-200 mm VR + Canon Close-up lens 500D17 May 2006 15:20 GMT1
For those who might be interested, I have updated my user review of the
Nikon 18-200 mm VR to add a link to some unretouched full resolution
pictures and to include a section on the Canon 500D close-up lens used
with the 18-200 mm VR.
DNG versus RAW for Archiving17 May 2006 15:17 GMT37
I shoot in Canon RAW with a 20D.  I'm archiving my photos in DNG
using the Adobe DNG converter, without embedding the RAW (CR2) file.
Does this create any serious disadvantages as opposed to saving the
original RAW file?  I didn't want to take up the space to save both
