Something I never see discussed amid all the Canon vs Nikon and

GP Battery charging20 May 2006 19:06 GMT10
I have used 1600 mAh GP's since 2000 and decided to upgrade to 2600 mAh
NiMh.
The 1600's came with a 3v/250mA 1.5VA 4 bank wall charger which has been
very good. I do not want to buy a new mega fast charger (which most seem to
Olympus D-150; lens doesn't come out20 May 2006 18:30 GMT2
I got an old Olympus Camedia D-150 P&S at a yard sale. It seems to work
fine but it has a big problem. The lens is supposed to come out
automatically and the flash is supposed to pop up when you slide the
front cover back; that's "shooting mode." The lens only comes out after

Anyone Carry Gear on Lufthansa Air? Bill? Roger? Anyone? :)20 May 2006 12:16 GMT34
Has anyone here dealt with this?
-I'm flying from Frankfort. Germany to Kiev, Ukraine...and Lufthansa says
your carry on can weigh no more than 8kg...with only ONE carry-on is
allowed.  That's only 17+ pounds, and my small Lowepro Backpack is going to

In August 2005, Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX1 was released. It was half-way
between a P&S and "pro" dSLR by picture quality, thanks to the big
Leica lens. It also had 9 ...
Really Basic Question20 May 2006 07:27 GMT13
I've always used a film SLR and am finally thinking of moving on to
digital. This question is really basic. I like to use long lenses. I
see many digital cameras advertizing long zooms by combining optical
and digital. I have always thought the digital zoom was pretty
Nikon Lens Choice20 May 2006 04:09 GMT15
I know little enough about photography to be dangerous and I'm thinking
on purchasing a Nikon D50,  The D200 has features I would probably
never use and I figured I'd invest more in a good lens or two.
I have seen mixed reviews on the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18 - 200 mm
ultracompact: indoors without flash20 May 2006 03:45 GMT9
I frequently take indoors photos of people without flash with an
ultracompact. It needs to be an ultracompact because I want to carry it
with me at all times since I cannot always know in advance when I might
need it.
Canon 24-70, 24-105, or 18-55?20 May 2006 02:07 GMT18
I am giving myself a headache trying to decide on a midrange zoom.  Am I the
only one having difficulties choosing?
I am using a 20D at the moment, but would like to go full frame when the
full frame bodies like the 5D come down in price, as I can't afford a 5D at

I've recently found myself attracted to photography has a hobby. I
