With DSLRs the way they do with other things?
What I mean is will their product cost be high and possibly
offer more than the entry-level DSLRs we see now?
The R1 is not a cheap P&S.  It sports a top flight lens

I will be travelling to Alaska in Late May this year, and in the
process of looking into Digital camera, currently interested ones are
Nikon D50, D70. Any other DSLR that you'd suggest? Beside the camera
body, what about the lense selection, or other necessities?

I understand Nikon Capture can convert the fisheye image from the 10.5mm
lens into a rectilinear one, but what focal length rectilinear lens does
that become equal to?

I've always worked in color, but I gave some B&W conversion a try today.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some programs to edit EXIF
data? I installed Picasa recently and it threw up a few photos that
have the wrong date. I presume this is part of the EXIF data. Some of
these photos were scanned so naturally they show date of scanning,

I'm wondering if there might be such an application around that you all may know
of.
I would like to be able to open a folder of images, then preferably drag and
drop them into the order I want, and then batch rename them in that order.

I am looking to replace my old big dinosaur Olympus C-3020 camera with
something more up to date. The Cannon SD450 and Sony DSC-W50 are the final 2
on my short list. Does anyone have an opinion of  either of those 2 cameras?

I have a minolta dimage z3 camera and also an external flash gun.  I am
trying to find a slave unit which will fire the external flash from the
