Batteries for a Dimage Z509 Apr 2006 09:32 GMT8
I just looked at the owner's manual for my Dimage Z5 and it says to
use only alkaline and NiMH batteries.  I suppose the higher voltage
of one-time-use lithium cells could be a problem but why not NiCD?
Has anyone used a Dimage Z5 with one-time-use lithium cells or NiCD
Embedded DPI? Still causing problems?09 Apr 2006 05:08 GMT8
I remember way back when, folks used to be confused by
images that displayed way too big on their screens, because
of the embedded dpi settings in the file.
Does this still happen?  Can you cite examples of any

online source for printing 3 1/2x5 prints?08 Apr 2006 22:37 GMT3
I need to make some smaller prints to send to friends in Japan and can't
find any 3 1/2 x 5 options in all the online shops I frequent (kodakgallery,
shutterfly, snapfish, yorkphoto).  Anyone know of a site where I can get the
smaller prints I need?
Photograph the moon: participate in a camera test08 Apr 2006 21:48 GMT41
There has been some discussion of image quality
of large versus small camera sensors, like found in
P&S versus DSLRs.
For example, can a Panasonic FZ series that goes out

I'm hoping you can give me some advice on buying a D70s
Have read reviews till my head's spinning and have come down in favour of
the D70 - a local camera shop has the kit for 725GBP which seems like a good
price

Cameraphone Question.08 Apr 2006 19:49 GMT33
Today, while in a tele-conference - I was making the best use of
office time, shooting portraits with my 1.3MP cameraphone, later hook
them up via IRDA in the PC.
Not bad. ;-)
Small, waterproof digital camera for the outdoors?08 Apr 2006 19:17 GMT42
I'd like to buy a small, waterproof digital camera for camping and
backpacking. I'm not planning to dive with it, but it's likely to get
wet even in a case, and it needs to be robust as it'll be attacked to
a rucksack.

Images for testing stitching software08 Apr 2006 13:47 GMT15
There has been a lot of discussion on the relative merits of different
stitching software.  I thought it might be useful to have a set of test
images that people can run through different stitching software so we
can compare how each does with the same input images.
