Panasonic has finally released their dmc-tz1
Do I need to buy their charger, for about $90?
Obviously I will need memory. Should I get theirs?
Thanks.
Recovering erased SanDisk SD card files18 Apr 2006 15:01 GMT2
I have my download software for my SD cards set to erase the images
after they are downloaded to the computer. I took almost 200 pictures
in Costa Rica, including my son's wedding, in Feb, downloaded and
erased the card when I got home.
Leica Replacement18 Apr 2006 14:11 GMT7
What cameras would be worth considering as complementary to a Leica M6?
I can't quite see me giving up on the M6 yet, but wondered what are the
closest analogs in the digital world. As I see it, the main strengths
of the Leica rangefinders are:
Canon Powershot A620 Lens18 Apr 2006 13:34 GMT3
I've had a Canon Powershot A620 for a couple of months now and
generally think it's a great camera. However, one thing is starting to
annoy me - lack of edge sharpness in the top left of the frame which is
*very* obvious @ widest settings and @ wide aperture. All other corners
Nikon D50, is it even worth it?18 Apr 2006 07:42 GMT69
I have been seriously interested in a digital SLR camera since I got
rid of my Nikon N55 film SLR. I am seriously terrible with film, and
out of 10 rolls, only about 30 pictures came out how I liked, and I was
fed up with waiting for the film to develope at Sav-On, and I didn't

no batteries in my camera. i stuck the camera together and switched on
without incident. i went upstairs and grabbed the card from my printer and

Megapixel question18 Apr 2006 07:12 GMT18
I thought I understood this, but was unable to feel comfortable
answering a friend's question about megapixels.
He's buying his first digital P&S camera.  He's comparing a 3.x camera
to a 6.x camera.  His interest is *only* in taking photographs and
Copyright infringement issues?18 Apr 2006 03:43 GMT3
I'm not a regular in here, but caught some threads that were crossposted
and became curious, so looked up the subject of copyright and images
posted in the "public domain" - there are so many successful court actions!
But found this particular case that some may find pertinant.
Spring flowers with the D20018 Apr 2006 03:04 GMT12
A few pix I took yesterday around the yard. The last one needs some of
the green background burned out to highlight the tulip leaves better.

Problem With New Microdrive in Nikon D-70....18 Apr 2006 01:06 GMT4
Bought a Seagate Microdrive 4gb today,  tried to format it in my Nikon
D-70, but the camera will not format the drive.  Keep getting a "cannot
use this card" error message when I try to format the drive.
Any ideas how to solve this??

Apparently too many people kept on taking flash
pictures when there was a clear "no flash" rule.

Digital acceptance in stock photography?18 Apr 2006 00:03 GMT10
I'm considering moving to digital and will continue building a
collection of photos for making available via stock photography. A few
years ago, I remember reading how stock photography businesses had not
really accepted digital photography as an acceptable image submission
Resizing Dig Photos17 Apr 2006 23:56 GMT6
I routinely submit photos to a web site that requires the photos to be
120 KB or lower. I take the photos in higher resolution, then resize
them with Paint Shop Pro. This is a tedious process sometimes. I would
like to find a freeware or shareware program that will allow me to
Orange tint for inside photos17 Apr 2006 22:40 GMT5
A large number of my inside digital photos are coming out with a strong
orange tint - any idea what I need to do to correct this?  thanks
