more than 300 dpi - why?01 Mar 2006 18:49 GMT36

greater dpi if we usually cannot deliver files with such quality?

There was a thread on this ng involving JPEGs and TVs that reminded me
of something.
I have been wishing to display my digital photos on my living room HDTV

RAW files starting out darker01 Mar 2006 14:50 GMT3
Has anyone else noticed that Picasa renders RAW (Canon .CR2) files a
bit darker than most other programs? It seems that when I view the same
raw files using the canon ZoomBrowser software, or Photoshop Elements
that the preview seems much brighter than the image displayed in
AcDsee 8.0 shows blacks as greens01 Mar 2006 13:13 GMT2
When I view photos as a slide show everything looks just fine.

their format appear with green (Full 255 G as in green screen) instead
of the blacks.
Jpeg strip utility01 Mar 2006 08:56 GMT19
What do Windows (or Linux) people use to strip non-image information
(exif, iptc, even color profile sometimes) from an existing jpeg file?
Mostly I want them left in, or else I know I don't when I first create
them, so I don't have a utility to hand now when I've encountered a
Eizo Calibration????01 Mar 2006 07:23 GMT10

intentionally lock it so you have to upgrade to the CG series!!!!  Am I
the only one who finds this absolutely appalling???

I got myself a canon A610 recently. I tried transferring images the
way i used to with my older sony, i.e. connect to the comp, it comes up
as a removable drive, you browse and copy the files. But its a bit
different in A610, you connect to the comp, it shows "canon camera
Digital photo recovery?01 Mar 2006 05:11 GMT4
My friends daughter just got back from a cruise and somehow erased all
the photos on her digital camera.  She has not used it since then so
hopefully the files can be recovered.  What digital photo recovery
software would you recommend she get to try and recover her photos?
Adding to Camera's EXIF DATA?01 Mar 2006 03:46 GMT12
Is there simple software that let's 1 edit the EXIF or
Metadata that the camera records?
I'm not talking about changing this data "after" the camera
has recorded it but rather, changing or adding to what the camera
Minolta Dimage A2 Foggy Pictures01 Mar 2006 03:38 GMT6
I bought a used Dimage A2 from somebody at work as my first digital

overcast days.
