Canon EF-S 18-55 Focus ring02 Mar 2006 22:16 GMT4
Does anybody know how to cure a loose focus ring on the Canon EF-S
18-55 lens.
In a strong wind with a lens hood on the ring moves causing the lens to
go out of focus.
Slow download from SD card to PC.02 Mar 2006 21:32 GMT16
I'm using a Konica Minolta Z3.  I have a frequent need to take 6 to 12
pictures and process them right away.  To get them into the editing
program I find I have wait an annoyingly long time for the card to go
through all of the pictures before I can get to the ones I just shot.
HP Photosmart 612 problem.02 Mar 2006 21:32 GMT1
I have a Photosmart 612 camera that will only respond with a red,
blue, and green screen when powered on.  The view screen is divided
equally by three vertical bars of the colors I mentioned.  I have
tried removing the batteries repeatedly.  I have tried new batteries
Even "Newsweek" disrespects the Oly 4/3 !!02 Mar 2006 20:45 GMT3
March 6, 2006 issue of "Newsweek" has a blurb on "Gadgets: Digital
Debuts" and on pg 63 has a photo of the E-330 with the caption "Novel:
Nikon's Evolt E-330" ... NIKON's Evolt??? ... oops ... at least in the
article it does credit it to Olympus, but I did a double-take when I
Why these deep-set grips make little sense02 Mar 2006 20:37 GMT17
Notice the hand position in this image.  It illustrates why the
deep-set grips don't work well.
There is no way for the fingers to curl around the grip and have good
hand contact with the
Viewing distance02 Mar 2006 20:34 GMT22
Hello, All!
There's been quite a lot of discussion of digital versus
chemical photography and prints. As a viewer rather than a
producer, could people tell me what are reasonable viewing
Nikon / Epson Rebate02 Mar 2006 20:08 GMT4
Has anyone received their rebate from Nikon/Epson deal offered around
Christmas time?
I bought a D50 and the Printer was supposed to be "Free"  of course you had
to pay for the printer and apply for a rebate.
Pentax screw mount adapters02 Mar 2006 19:51 GMT4
A friend of mine has several old screw mount Pentax lenses.  He wants to get
a digital SLR.  Does Pentax make an adapter so that he could use these
lenses with a current model?
ProShow panning??02 Mar 2006 18:58 GMT8
Hi, folks.
I am currently trialing Proshow Gold.  In the Motion & Effects option, is it
possible to pan and zoom from a specific point (a single tree for instance)
on the photo outward to then include the full frame?  It can be done quite
Scanning 35mm Film With Nikon Scanner02 Mar 2006 17:00 GMT21
I have just ordered a Nikon 35mm film scanner to convert all my old
negatives to digital.
The scanner is capable of scanning 4000DPI and although tempted to scan and
save at the maximum possible settings, I am concerned about the huge file
QUESTION: Buying components from different continents...??02 Mar 2006 16:51 GMT4
Hi, all.
I have a Canon Rebel 300D that I bought in Canada last year.
I'm looking for a good deal on the BG-E1 battery grip for this unit.
ASSUMING I end up with a legit Canon unit and not a knock-off, I don't
Digicams With MF Film Quality02 Mar 2006 15:18 GMT177
I'm thinking of replacing my MF film camera with a digicam. But, I'm
concerned about the quality of the images I'd get, since I'd like to
produce up to 20" x 24" prints. Can anyone recommend a digicam,
preferably under $1K, that can do  that? Or, do I need to buy a digital
Digital Rebel and Adobe RGB02 Mar 2006 15:12 GMT7
After being unhappy with the colour balance in most of my images (both
on screen and in print), I've started to pay more attention to colour
management in my workflow. I've purchased a Monaco Optix XR to
calibrate my LCD monitor, and it's already made a world of difference.
