In a conventional camera an iris controls the aperture and a mechanical
shutter is altered to control the shutter speed - is this the same in a
digital camera? I have not 'seen' anything that looks like an iris and
presumably shutter speed is controlled by how long the CCD is ...

I thought that with talk now and then about all the camera places like B&H, Beach, and all the others, you might find this webpage is interest.

I have a Canon SD550 which lets me adjust the ISO when using the manual
settings.  I understand that a higher ISO leads to more detail in the
photo but can also lead to more 'noise' in the image.
Under what conditions would i set this higher or lower?  Are there any

I'm looking to buy some larger CF cards.  Does anyone here know of any
particularly good deals on 4GB CF cards, online or in retail stores?
