sd9 -> dust on sensor!20 Mar 2006 13:11 GMT21
George Preddy, our resident sd9 salesman tells us the the sd9 has a
sealed body that keeps dust away from the lens.   Hmmm.   Seems it does
a pretty good job of keeping the dust ON the lens as well.

Vcd slideshow software?20 Mar 2006 10:14 GMT5
Can someone here please recommend software to burn slide shows onto Vcd's
for distribution to family and friends?  Hopefully one that will allow the
addition of audio and text screens?  I didn't really care for the .pdf one
in PhotoShop Elements.
DOF issues20 Mar 2006 09:36 GMT11
Yesterdays discussion brought up an interesting point about DOF and digital
cameras - the smaller the sensor, the more DOF for a given aperature.
I didn't realize this was an issue in picking a digital camera.  I think
that many years ago I had read that MF cameras had a narrower ...

DUST: Does this rule out buying DSLR's?20 Mar 2006 06:40 GMT154
I have been reading the review of the Sony DSC-R1 on Ken Rockwell's site
http://www.kenrockwell.com/sony/dsc-r1.htm
and I see that the conclusion is that you are better off with a real DSLR
like the Canons or the Nikon D50. But it has always been the potential DUST
changing size in computer20 Mar 2006 06:37 GMT10
When I download pictures from my digital camera to my computer, they are very large,
high quality. They are taking up a lot of resources. Question 1:  When I resize them,
am I freeing up the original resources it took up?
Question 2: Do I have to open every picture and do the resize ...
Ink20 Mar 2006 06:04 GMT2
Man I have found this site that has the cheapest ink for any printer.
You can compare prices and then review the companies on service and
quality. http://www.imagraphix.com  Let me know what you think.
New inkjet print mounting technique20 Mar 2006 05:45 GMT6
I have developed a really neat way to mount and display inkjet prints
and I would like to hear what you think.  I print on rag fine art paper
or canvas on my Epson 4000 (17 inch) printer.  I dry them in my Seal
210 press (minutes after printing) then, after trimming off the white
ACER Monitor Colour Profiles20 Mar 2006 04:05 GMT9
Can anyone tell me how to find the ICC or ICM colour profile for my new
Acer AL1951 LCD monitor that I need to calibrate for use with
Photoshop. Acer tell me they do not give out these details to members
of the public, why I don't know. I also need the gamma, white spot and
Picasa20 Mar 2006 03:49 GMT1
I downloaded a bunch of digatl photos to my CD.
When the disc is viewed many have a red X in middle of photo.  Not there in
original pic from camera.
What does that mean?
Tripod for Panoramoic Photos?20 Mar 2006 03:09 GMT8
Hi. I just bought a Canon Powershot A610.  I'm interested in using it's
Stitch Assist mode to make panoromic images.  I tried making a few
without a tripod and I had only marginal success in stitching together
the images.  I therefore think I might need a tripod to ensure that my ...

Nikon D70 self-timer - have to choose it each time20 Mar 2006 00:30 GMT7
Is there a way to set the D70 to the self-timer shooting mode/position as a
default instead of having to click the control wheel to that position each new
shot?

How has the Nikon 4800 fared ?20 Mar 2006 00:22 GMT2
Where does the Nikon Coolpix 4800 stand as an entry-level P&S ? As a
beginner in digital photography, I've been doing some research over the
past couple of months and I understand the specs fairly well. I've also
read the detailed review at DP Review. But there are certain things
