I thought that I had finally decided on a digital camera to purchase and it looked like the Canon S2 IS was going to be the choice and then I read the reviews more carefully. It does not have RAW capability. I need the following reqiuirements:

| Tridpod Height Opinions | 24 Feb 2006 22:10 GMT | 17 |
Looking to see what everyone recommends for a tripod height. I'm going to buy a cheap (Wal-Mart) tripod but there are three different heights. Do I go for one that fits my height (6')? Do I go for one that's small for ease of portability? Does it really matter?

| Boring | 24 Feb 2006 21:27 GMT | 62 |
It's pretty arid, boring, stultifying, take your pick, when two of the longest threads are about the fine points of formatting CF cards and the all important dustup over......dust. C'mon, Canon, Nikon, give us something interesting to chew over this

| Alternative to Panasonic DMC-FZ30K (USA) | 24 Feb 2006 19:23 GMT | 4 |
I have tentatively decided on the Panasonic 30K rather than the Fuji S9000. Before I go shopping, I'd like to know if there are any other similar cameras out there in the approximate same price range. I'd hate to buy, and a week later see something else with better

Lots of traffic about the Canon D30, but I noticed nothing about this new lens. Whaddya think? Is it too late for serious photographers to buy an EFS lens now that full-frame DSLR is semi-affordable?

| Askey shows bias | 24 Feb 2006 18:18 GMT | 3 |
First he "releases" his D200 review immediately after the Canon D30 and then says that the D200 is better than the 5D. He quotes B&H dollar prices trying to show that the D200 is HALF the price of the 5D.

| Canon A620 for first-timer? | 24 Feb 2006 16:22 GMT | 2 |
I need to buy a new digital camera in a hurry. I'm replacing an old 1 megapixel that I bought in '99. I'm not into photography, and don't know a lot about it, so I'm definitely not a sophisticated or expert digicam user. Looked at some

| Auto "Image Sharpening" and "Image Adjustment" with Nikon 5700 | 24 Feb 2006 10:40 GMT | 3 |
My Nikon 5700 by default turns on "Image Sharpening" and "Image Adjustment" (=Contrast) when in manual mode. Can I have the same effect with Adobe Photoshop, if I turn these settings off? I suspect that in some cases the above settings had a no so good effect on my pictures,
