Getting candid people photos06 Feb 2006 16:08 GMT53
I am looking for suggestions for how to take shots of people being
themselves without noticing the camera. Do any of you have any tips beside
using a long lens? When I see good potential shots I inevitably draw
attention to myself reaching for my camera. People also seem to sense ...

For me it's hard to decide which website to join. I shoot mostly
portraits and travel and I would like to learn through comments from
other enthusiasts. Can anyone comment on the following with a few words
about the differences? Or point out other websites?

I have a canon 10D camera, I shoot RAW.
My question is:
Is it normal that I have to correct the contrast of most of my photos.
There always seems to be a sort of haze on all my outdoor photos even when

I am looking for a high quality printer/scanner combo.
I've got lots of old black&white family photos that I am interested
in scanning and retouching.
I want to make large prints also; not poster size, but bigger than 4x6.

question on Minolta Maxxum Digital cameras06 Feb 2006 05:32 GMT32
i've got a question regarding Minolta line of digital cameras (5D & 7D)
i read some reviews saying these cameras do not have a LCD viewfinder

Shooting Tethered to a Mac or PC06 Feb 2006 05:10 GMT6
I'm using a D70 with pretty good success when I have control of the light,
but I would like to get more/faster feedback about my images, as well as see
them in a larger size than what is available in the little camera-back LCD
window.  I'm thinking that there must be a good way ...

Flash compatibility w/ the Nikon D7006 Feb 2006 04:02 GMT3
I bought a Nikon D70 sometime after I bought a Nikon SB-50 DX
Speedlight (to work with my old N80).  Are the two compatible?  When I
tried it on, they don't seem to work together.  Is there a setting on
the D70 that I need to change to use the SB-50 DX with it?  Thanks.
Apple Aperture, Bugs06 Feb 2006 03:55 GMT9
I have found a few bugs in Aperture since I started using it (ver.
1.01):
If you use Photoshop as your external editor, Aperture creates a new
version with either a .PSD or .TIFF suffix. The documentation for
Largest print size with 6/8/10/12 MP camera06 Feb 2006 00:35 GMT20
I usually make prints 24" x 30", or 24" x 36" using a medium format
film camera, scanning the film at 3200DPI, touching up in Photoshop and
printing on an Epson 7600. My final images are about 50 MP, and this
doesn't require much up-rezzing.   I've been seriously considering
Online Photo Sites - Photo Sharing05 Feb 2006 22:41 GMT3
I currently use both my own web page and Webshots for sharing photos with
others.  But I'm looking for something better.  This is for basic snapshots
that I was want to share with family, friends and acquaintances.
My problem with Webshots, and similar sites I've found, is that ...
