| Capturing images of paintings | 14 Feb 2006 03:59 GMT | 24 |
Hi. I was asked to shoot 50-60 paintings with a digital camera. Should I lie each painting on the floor and shoot downwards? Or would it be better to shoot them from a frontal view? Suggestions on a tripod/gear, tec. Thanks.

| gripe: my Panasonic DMC-LZ2 point & shooter is totaled(want parts??) Camera accident stories ? | 14 Feb 2006 03:24 GMT | 2 |
I've only had this for three months and I already FUBAR'ed. I dropped it 6' or so and the camera landed on a very hard surface, lens first with the lens extended. Lens assembly broke, mechanism gone, glass gone but LCD turns on fine.

| 2nd lens for my 20D | 14 Feb 2006 02:28 GMT | 13 |
I've had a canon 20D for 6 months now. It replaced my canon G2. I bought it with the 17-85 lens kit. Now I'd like to buy a 2nd lens. I fancy a macro to shoot the tiny critters around my pond in the summer. I've narrowed it down to two. The EF-S 60mm f2.8 Macro or the EF100mm f2 ...

| Saving RAW file after modifying | 14 Feb 2006 02:06 GMT | 6 |
I am using Photoshop CS and when I make changes to a RAW file and click OK, I usually 'Save As" a JPG with a specific name to indicate changes. When I would then close the file, I thought that I used to be asked if I wanted to save the changes I made to the RAW file and I would ...

These are a few of the photos I have taken recently while serving as a missionary in the Philippines. This is my first attempt at a web site. Any constructive criticism is always welcome. Yes, I know I said I would never do a web site. :-)

I've just bought one (in UK) and would like to know of any source of good alternative cartridges and are they (either the original Canon or compatibles) successfully refillable? I'm also having to get to grips with printer profiles and would welcome some

| polarizer or neutral | 13 Feb 2006 22:35 GMT | 12 |
I just bought a Kenko PL 55mm polarizer but seems to be a neutral filter instead. When I turn the ring I see no difference in light. Does anyone know if that could be a neutral filter o it's just I don't know how to turn the ring. I really cannot see a slight difference in light

| Upgrading to digital | 13 Feb 2006 21:37 GMT | 4 |
We are moving, painfully, from film to digital. Does anyone know of an organisation or individual, ideally close to Oxford UK, which can asssist in the move with skilled professional knowledge of creating a proven workflow from studio to print?

| Nikon D70 v Archos 500 Series | 13 Feb 2006 21:03 GMT | 6 |
Well looks like my trusty Archos 140 which I've used as an image tank for a few years has gone to silicon heaven. So I have a choice, I can either get an AV420/480 which have the CF reader built in, or I can get a 500 series, but instead of CF it has

| Dry Creek Photo? | 13 Feb 2006 20:24 GMT | 7 |
Anyone use Dry Creek Photo for a custom ICC profile recently? After reading a number of positive recommendations for them, I sent in samples and a check on 1/19. I know they take 2 to 3 weeks, and I can live with that, but so far they haven't even deposited the check. I

| Help with Kodak digital camera | 13 Feb 2006 20:20 GMT | 11 |
I'm mostly a lurker here, but I have a question that I was hoping someone could help me with. A friend of mine got a Kodak digital camera for Christmas, I'm not sure the exact model, it's a 5mp point and shoot. She took some pictures with it and it worked fine for a while, but ...
