I noticed the EXIF tag for Orientation using a graphics program. All of my pics, taken with an Oly 3030Z, always indicate a Landscape orientation. Is the camera supposed to know what orientation I'm holding it in which to apply the proper value to the EXIF tag?

Folks I have a 70 - 200 Canon F4 which on my 20D and 1Dmk 11n is a great lens. I have the opportunity to get the 70 - 200 2.8 L IS for a good deal but would have to sell my 400 F5.6 L to finance the 2.8. Now the question is this.
