I am thinking about buying this camera, but a couple of reviews have stated that both the viewfinder and lcd screen are difficult to see in bright light. I would use it frequently in bright settings, such as the beach, soccer games, etc. Is it really difficult to use in bright

| 16bit vs 8bit for prints | 18 Feb 2006 06:40 GMT | 15 |
A photographer friend of mine processes everything in Photoshop in 16 bit RAW. When he wants to have a print made he changes the image to an 8 bit tif. He says that the reason for dropping to 8 bit is that most photo labs have 8 bit printers.

| Nikon lens advise sought | 18 Feb 2006 06:34 GMT | 8 |
I have a Nikon F90X which sometimes gets used when only film will do. Currently it uses a 28-70 zoom but what I really need is a macro lens for detailed machineery shots which I can also use for photographing documents and paintings without barrel distortion.

Is there a way to embed names in photos so that a search may be made at a later date to retrieve a selected person? This would be where multiple people are in photos and you just want to pull up one person's list of pictures in a stored set of pictures (say, 1,000 to 5,000

What zoom lens would you go for on a 20D? EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM or a EF 17-40mm f/4.0L USM? Obviously, the 17-85 has a greater focal length/range and is image stabilised, but the 17-40 is an 'L' lens, which are renouned for their
