Tokina lenses for Canon body?19 Feb 2006 13:27 GMT8
I use Canon and Sigma lenses for my rugby images and had cause to
consider a Tokina lens today. Having not used this brand at all I am
curious to hear what experience others have had.
I note that pbase shows some decent reviews of these as a whole.
Viewing images with Nikon software19 Feb 2006 10:50 GMT2
My new Nikon CoolScan V ED film scanner is producing some quite
up-to-standard images from color negatives, but there is a strange effect
that eludes me:
The Nikon Scan software (version 4.0.2) allows saving in other formats (TIFF
Cost of home prints?19 Feb 2006 10:23 GMT15
I realize this is an old topic, feel free to skip to the "Q" below:
I want a dedicated printer plugged into an iMac G5 to use with CS2 and
iViewMediaPro.  Due to mobility issues, the less fiddling I have to do
with the printer the better.  I'm considering 4 printers at the

Maintaining the required pixel resolution when compositing?18 Feb 2006 19:47 GMT8
Hiya,
My digital photography has a long way to go. A lot of my pictures are
backlit with poor backgrounds. Often I want to remove a background on a
relativiely high res picture and replace it, sometimes with a low res
IrfanView Properties Question18 Feb 2006 19:13 GMT3
When I display an image with IrfanView I always get a larger view and
do Ctrl+H to see original size.  I have tried checking
Options>Properties>View>Show Images/Movies with the Original Size with
no results.
Canon 28/1.8 or 35/2.0 for 20d "normal" lens?18 Feb 2006 17:38 GMT5
I have moved almost exclusively to digital and I'm using my 20d with
the 16-35/2.8L, 50/1.4, and 100/2.0. I love all of my glass, but I miss
the days of walking around with a 50mm prime: using a 50 on the 20d is
too limiting, and the 16-35, though great, is a bit bulky to just throw

I have hundreds of picture files on both my laptop and desktop. I use
Windows XP Home. When in PhotoShop, Windows Explorer or other photo
software I could quickly open a directory using the Thumbnail view. I
have Irfanview on both computers. When using the details view all

Canon S2 maximum storage18 Feb 2006 09:48 GMT2
Can the Canon S2 use 2 GB Secure Digital cards?  Is there a disadvantage
to using a card with that much capacity?  They seem to be about the
cheapest per megabyte right now.
WHY ME??18 Feb 2006 08:21 GMT15
Wife: I found a place on eBay that has the D200, and I ordered it!
Me: Did you check resellerratings.com? Did you look up the vendor on Don
Wiss's site? Is this a bait and switch Brooklyn scammer?
Wife: Uh...
