I uploaded some pictures to Flickr last night for the first time. It seems OK (barely) and it is free. But what killed it for me was that it automatically downsized all the pictures I uploaded to something about close to one megapixel.

There was a recent question about recovering photographs that had been deleted by accident. It appears there are two free downloads with which you can recover these files, after telling a friend about this, I cannot find any trace of it!!

Does anybody understand why when one scans photos off an Epson 1200 Perfection (not accurate I think) scanner the results are slightly less sharp than looking at the photo itself. I'm scanning at 600 dpi and resizing the picture to 1100 x 700 pixels.

Last Thursday I was pricing CF cards, in the 1 to 2 GB range. I'd pretty much decided on the SanDisk Extreme III model, and was trying to make up my mind to go for a pair of 1GBs for $103 each, or spring for a single 2GB at $220.
