| digital SLRS and focal lengths | 28 Jan 2006 09:30 GMT | 9 |
After researching the Canon 350D I came across a description on the Canon site of the 18-55mm kit lens being the equivalent to a 29-88mm in 35mm film format. Can someone explain why the lens yields different magnification in different formats?

I've spent a lot of time reading on the group and elsewhere, and have yet to find a good source of information for the digital photo novice regarding best practices for photo editing and managing (some for my family photo scanning/archiving project).
