Trouble Reproducing the Color Purple01 Jan 2006 20:53 GMT29
Newbie here. I've got a Canon A520 but the problem I'm describing is
not unique to this camera or even digital photography.
One thing I have noticed for years and years is the difficulty of
photographs, TV broadcasts, videotapes, etc. reproducing the color
s9500 Focus Question.01 Jan 2006 18:37 GMT6
I have taken 2 photos of a pylon (both with camera held vertically, one with
the lens side of the camera at the top and one with the lens side of the
camera at the bottom).  I took the photos at 1/640 sec shutter speed,  3.2
aperture and 50-60mm (equiv) focal length.

Add two layers pixel-wise in Photoshop01 Jan 2006 15:58 GMT3
I'm looking for the simple operation to add two layers pixel-wise for
all channels in Photoshop (ver. 8). I find adjustments layers and
blending options for Multiply, Difference and so on, and I find
Arithmetic's for adding in gray scale and separate channels, but all I
"Photo Response"  Canon 5D image better than 1DsMkII01 Jan 2006 14:17 GMT2
They pretty much declared it to have the best image of any current
DSLR.  Good magazine, tons of reviews of cameras and lenses, but it
is in French.

Panasonic DMC-FZ30 01 Jan 2006 10:07 GMT17
I'd appreciate hearing what  you folks think of this camera.  I have read
many good reviews along with some very critical ones about image quality and
noise.  I was considering a DSLR, but the price and features of this camera
have caused me to rethink my plan.
Canon SD400 lens stuck out01 Jan 2006 08:29 GMT3
My Canon SD400 gave me a warning that the battery was running out, and
began to suck the lens back in.  I pressed the on/off button while the
lens was moving and it stopped the lens and turned the camera back on.
I realized my error and pressed the button again to turn it off.  As

$600 for Sony DSC-F828 OK ?01 Jan 2006 07:17 GMT7
I have an offer of a *used* Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 + 256MB memory
stick Pro for $600. The owner claims he's had it for 18 months and that
it's in excellent condition. Is this price OK, very good or rather high
? Actually prices tend to be high in my area, so this would be roughly
Flash Photography, how to get the best out of it?01 Jan 2006 04:59 GMT12
I have a Canon digital rebel, Sunpak 5000af Zoom Flash, Tamron SP

Are there any digital cameras that can compensate for perspective distortion
without needing to get a separate lens?
Need help with Sony Cybershot DSC-P200.01 Jan 2006 03:44 GMT3
I gave my wife a Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 camera for Christmas and we've had
a couple of problems with the unit and I was hoping to solicit some
advice/feedback from other users of this camera (if this is the appropriate
forum).

Kodak CX6445 vs. DX6340 or DX744001 Jan 2006 03:08 GMT4
I recently purchased a Kodak CX6445 4MP from a refurb dealer -- did it
because my wife has had good experiences with our DX6340 3.2 MP camera.
The CX6445 shows significantly more artifacting, however -- especially
visible in fine detail, and in backgrounds. Leaves on a distant tree
