Scanner for 11 x 14 pages to archive - photo and text? And resolution?17 Jan 2006 02:01 GMT10
I am wondering if anyone here has advice on a scanner that can handle
11.5x14.5ish sized pages? I would like to be able to scan in full pages
from a *very* old family album to maintain the original feel. I spend
alot (too much) time on the computer, but haven't ventured into AV
And one file system to be read by them (OSs) all?17 Jan 2006 00:36 GMT82
I have a new 400 gig hard drive that I'm mounting in an external drive
case.  I'd like to format this drive in an OS-agnostic format so that I
can plug it into a Windoze, Mac, or *NIX computer (via USB or Firewire)
and the computer can talk to the drive and read and write to the ...

I am after a number of volunteers to open up galleries on my site. The
catch? There is no catch. I am basically testing out new software I
have written. The idea is to create a place where photographers can

Image sorting, re-naming, etc. question17 Jan 2006 00:18 GMT3
Is there a image file program that would let me sort several image files at
once. As an example, taking  a group of 7 images numbered as follows:
001, 002, 005, 007, 008, 010, 014, etc. And then putting them into a new
numerical order as:

download Photoshop?16 Jan 2006 21:07 GMT16
Is it okay to download a copy of PhotoShop or is it preferable to go to
Office Depot and buy the software?  I just need to edit my digital photos,
nothing professional just home and family things.  Thanks.

How to Fix Really Bad "Red Eye"16 Jan 2006 20:29 GMT5
Actually, my little digital camera produces what I call "white eye".
The center of the eye in the photograph is not red, its white. And
none of the standard tools that I have in my software toolbox
recognize that this white region needs to have the same color as the
Quick Monitor Check...I'm looking for a new one..16 Jan 2006 20:05 GMT5
No flames, no arguments, no sales pitches. I'm just wondering what
people are using. My friend has the ViewSonic VX924 and it's very
nice. A bit bright (even after adjustments) but has clean edges. He's
not using it for digital photography or anything...it just looks
Outdoor wilderness photography16 Jan 2006 19:49 GMT19
I recently completed the design of a site that has free outdoor
wilderness pictures. I am an amatuer photographer and am just getting
started.
I am looking into getting a better camera but am not sure what the best
Sensor arrays for large format applications16 Jan 2006 17:30 GMT3
Why don't the camera manufacturers develop a sensor "array" of multiple
smaller sensors rather than a single larger and presumably more expensive
and difficult to manufacture sensor.  The idea would be to mimic large array
telescopes used by astronomers.  Software could take care ...
