lens filters; shooting in a gymnasium18 Jan 2006 15:41 GMT9
Ok, the reason I had to get the digital rebel xt by a certain date is
coming up this Saturday Jan21 (i'll get shot my the bosslady if I don't
take "good" pictures).
My package came with filter lenses and one of them says: FD Filter,
Electronic view finder18 Jan 2006 14:32 GMT8
Anybody know if any of the small pocket size
digital cameras have EVFs?
That is, they carry the same info as the LCD
screen when switched to Viewfinder mode.
Fuji's 5th generation Super CCD HR sensor18 Jan 2006 13:52 GMT7
Can anyone shed any light on how this new sensor works? Take, for
example, the 9MP one found on their E900 and S9000 (or S9500) cameras.
Fuji says this is 9 million effective pixels, and 9 million recorded
pixels, therefore there is no interpolation (such as there was on their
RawShooter JPEG for LCD18 Jan 2006 09:18 GMT1
I am using RawShooter 2005 to process and save NEF's as JPEG's for an
LCD slide show.
Can someone please give me an idea what settings in the batch
conversion menu are most appropriate for this purpose?
How do Nikon name their Coolpix numbers?18 Jan 2006 07:37 GMT4
I am very confused by the naming of coolpix.
Some models with smaller number are newer than the higher number. Even the
none coolpix is true: like D50 is newer than D70, but I understand this
naming because D70 is better than D50.
Rant: Don't buy a camera at Circuit City18 Jan 2006 07:22 GMT119
They charge a 15% restock fee. I bought a Canon SD550 and wanted to
return it. They kept 15%. What a rip. Even Ritz allows you to return
if your not happy. It was within the 14 day trial period. Their price
was $45 lower than local stores so I went for it...I didn't realize it
reality check?18 Jan 2006 07:05 GMT6
I just read the review (www.steves-digicams.com) of the Nikon S3, and while
Steve seems to like it (a lot) the sample pix look utterly horrible!
Vignetting, amped up colors, soft, and noisy. Am I seeing things? Or are the
samples that bad?
Olympus E50018 Jan 2006 06:26 GMT5
Would appreciate information regarding this camera. I've used nothing
but film cameras in the past - nothing but Nikon. Specs regarding the
Olympus E500 seems fine with RAW, JPG and TIFF........can't beat that. I
will be working with telephoto lenses.......I would appreciate your ...
20D included software18 Jan 2006 04:50 GMT3
I have just purchases a 20D and have spent a bit of time learning the
camera. I am now ready to spend some time learning the software for
any post processing that may be needed.
It came with:
Sceptre Monitors...anyone know of this?18 Jan 2006 04:35 GMT3
At newegg.com there are tons of these monitors with rave reviews. 8ms
refresh 20.1 screens @ $389.00 seems pretty good to me. There seems to
be a long listing of this 'brand' so was wondering if anyone here uses
it. I still love my old ViewSonic and feel pretty loyal to them, but

Do you think Nikon would ever make an FM-D?
Any Europeans reading this?18 Jan 2006 01:16 GMT19
Can I send a DVD of a home movie, made on my computer, to Denmark and
expect that a DVD player there will play it?
I know that not all DVD players play burned DVDs, but is it like the
video problems of PAL and NTSC comparability?  Or just a matter of the
Kodak P850 and QuickTime18 Jan 2006 01:08 GMT22
Well, this is becoming a book. Now Quicktime will not load. I have an
older version which no matter how hard I try will NOT uninstall itself.
This is so I can install the new version. I even went to "mindsoft" to
try to get rid of the files and that did not work. I have also tried
Photo Paper Q18 Jan 2006 00:18 GMT22

fine it to be the cheapest to buy.
    I am talking about 8 1/2" x 11".
