Removing the "blockies" from digital images21 Jan 2006 10:01 GMT7
I know there are a lot of programs and plugins that remove the "blocky"
effects from JPEG images, but I came across what I think is a good
solution and I'd be grateful if some of you veterans could try it out
and let me know what you think of it.
I Don't Find Wacom Tablets Useful21 Jan 2006 07:46 GMT16
Frequently I need to extract part of an image from it's background.  I
do this by outlining the object/area.  I find it tedious and difficult
to do with a mouse, so I bought a Wacom tablet thinking it would make
it easier.  (In fact, I've bought two as someone walked away with the
Sony External Battery Charger BC-TR121 Jan 2006 06:29 GMT2
I have bought the above charger for the Sony P3200. The instruction
book states "Do not connect the battery charger to a voltage adapter
(travel convertor) for overseas travel. This may result in overheating
or other malfunctions. What does that mean? I shall be travelling to
unbranded rechargeables20 Jan 2006 22:48 GMT12
I was looking at batteries for my 350D (NB-2LH). The Canon branded one
comes in at around 45 quid normally, though I've seen is as cheap as 25
quid (plus a fiver p&p) on t'internet.
As an alternative, generic batteries are available starting at around a

Sorry I'm a complete newbie here. Which should I get?
Kodak C310 (4MP): $198
Canon A410 (3.2MP): $228
Kinda confused here about why the 4mp is cheaper? Like I said I'm
DVD's won't play on KOSS player! (pics from Kodak 7330 on HP Computer)20 Jan 2006 22:03 GMT7
I have experimentally saved photos from a Kodak C7330 on DVDs, using
'Media Center' and 'Sonic' on my HP computer,  and tried to play them on
my older KOSS DVD player.
One was a 'movie' format, where the first pic fades into the second, etc.
double focus20 Jan 2006 15:27 GMT1
Hey all (delurk!),
Whilst toying with some stupid ideas, I stumbled upon a simple way to
incorporate several separate, shallow focus planes in a digital photo
(while keeping everything in between out of focus).
A free and handy program categorizer/launcher20 Jan 2006 15:06 GMT1

Nikon rebates?20 Jan 2006 15:04 GMT3
I was considering a Nikon lens which had a rebate offer which expired in
the last few days.  (I hadn't quite decided whether to buy it.)
Does Nikon run rebates on any sort of schedule?  i.e., when might we see
another list of offers from them? (which may or may not include a ...
Canon A 610 - how to properly use macro20 Jan 2006 14:46 GMT4
I just recently bought a Canon A610.  I primarily use the camera to take
pictures for auction use.  So I need to take very close up pictures on the
items.  However, when I used the macro function to take close up pictures,
the pictures are still out of focus.  Only a small portion ...

Has anyone tried any of the new compact

tripods, aimed at compact digital
cameras?
PROBLEM WITH LCD ON IXUS 40 AND IXUS 70020 Jan 2006 14:04 GMT2
I'm looking for Canon IXUS 40 or IXUS 700. I was reading user's opinion
about these two. Is it true that their LCD are that fragile (people said LCD
cracked after one week). Last week I asked one salesman about that, he said,
after 50s sold, no one had that problem.
Oriental Girls20 Jan 2006 12:39 GMT7
Oriental girls the most beautiful and compliant in the world - Thai,
Filipina, Vietnamese et al. Lovely, unspoilt, women desperate for
foreign men who will treat them nicely (unlike a lot of the local
louts). Imagine an Oriental version of Kate Moss when she was nineteen
