Question about Photoshop CS22 Jan 2006 03:00 GMT1
When I select a photo to display in Photoshop, a window will appear that
lists all of the camera settings, etc.  This panel also shows at the bottom
a selection for GPS, Raw, and Edit History.
I can make several changes to a photo and none of this shows up in Edit
Where professionals print their photos?22 Jan 2006 02:55 GMT13
Where professional photographers print their photos?  As far as I know
online print services such as Snapfish or Shutterfly don't provide
ICC profiles.  Although Costco profiles can be downloaded from Dry
Creek Photo, still none of online sites provide many choices in paper
bubble jet printer22 Jan 2006 01:56 GMT6
I'm going to be looking for a new bubblejet printer soon and would like
a little input from those who know more about what to look out for than
I do. What I mean is the one I'm using is an absolute undependable
money pit (not going to mention the make or model) and the ink

Anyone measure the coverage of sub-35mm lenses?21 Jan 2006 23:01 GMT2
The DSLR lenses designed for 1.5-1.6 sensors or the Olympus 2x lenses.
How much coverage do they really provide?  Also, it says you can't
use them on FF DSLRs, owing to coverage, but is that the only thing
preventing

Sensor size - 3rd party lens DSLR's21 Jan 2006 21:28 GMT5
After thinking about sensor size compared to 35mm film size and considering
the multiplication factor I had the following thought - can someone please
advise if I'm thinking correctly.
Standard (non digital SLR lens are designed to project an image on a 35 mm
Digital camera no mechanical shutter21 Jan 2006 19:13 GMT8
OK you convinced me that trying to modify the Canon G2 for my application
was not a good idea.
So now I am looking at the Olympus D-575 which has no mechanical shutter.
Can the Olympus be operated with a remote connection like the G2 can? I want
Alright, here's one for ya..."Thumbs.db" files???21 Jan 2006 17:38 GMT3
I've noticed this file at the end of each directory I've created for
my photos. ACDSee tells me that XP is creating this file. For a 25MB
directory, the Thumbs.db file is 7.5kb...nothing to worry about, but
why is it there?
Why "flower" lens hood?21 Jan 2006 17:30 GMT8
A "flower" lens hood is a cylinder of plastic or sheet metal that
extends beyond the end of a camera lens. It has two or more cut-outs,
giving it the "flower" appearance.
My question is, what purpose is served by these cut-outs?  In fact,
Did ACDSee mess me up? Need some help21 Jan 2006 16:16 GMT10
I used the batch "change series" option in ACDSee (free version) and
now my pictures open twice when double clicking in Explorer, or XP
asks me what program to use to open the files.
Interestingly, the little icon (when using Explorer) changed from what
Nikon D100 and Finepix S2 - suddenly Compact Flash Cards are not compatible21 Jan 2006 14:55 GMT7
I have a Nikon D100 and a Finepix S2. Now I have a problem with the
Compact Flash Cards. If I make a shot with the D100 and then I want to
make a shot with the same card but in the S2 the S2 says that the card
is full. If I do it the other way around, I have the same problem. If I

Cheap wide-angle lens for Casio P700?21 Jan 2006 13:19 GMT1
I'm about to go on my hols and at the last minute I've decided I could
make good use of a wide angle lens for my P700. I don't want to pay a
fortune so I'm happy with a slightly ropey one, such as the ones on

sRGB or Adobe RGB?21 Jan 2006 13:03 GMT7
I am very confused by sRGB vs. Adobe RGB.  I have a Canon 20D and Photoshop
CS2.  Both have settings for sRGB or Adobe RGB workspace.  I know the Adobe
is supposed to have more colors, but Canon cautions against it in the owners
manual.  "Design rule for Camera File System 2.0 ...
