More about cleaning sensors and Canon Canada (long)02 Dec 2005 14:48 GMT18
As you know, cleaning sensors has been a hot topic in this NG.
I finally got a lot of trash that I can't get rid of on my Canon's Rebel XT
CMOS sensor and decided to write to Canon Canada.
Below, starting from my initial e-mail is the correspondence we exchanged.
Looking at Kodak z740 or equiv camera - ideas anyone?02 Dec 2005 14:41 GMT5
Looking for a reasonable lower end digital camera and have come across
the Kodak EasyShare z740 (best price I can get is $342 AUD).  I like
this as it has a great 10x optical zoom length and excellent MP
strength of 5.0MP for the price

"Agents" (?) for photo-graphic artists?02 Dec 2005 14:01 GMT1
I'm looking for ways to market photography and graphic art.  I've done the
usual gamut of web adverts, galleries, etc.  A friend suggested that I try
to find an "agent" who would take on my work, and for a commission, use his
connections to try to make bulk sales of prints, etc.

Puzzling file date taken entry02 Dec 2005 10:37 GMT1
Not something to lose sleep over, but I'm puzzled by this. Looking at
a dozen JPG images I scanned in 2 days ago in a Windows Explorer
folder, just one of them has a 'Date Picture Taken' entry against it.
FWIW, it's 30/11/2005 17:54, and the Date Modified is 30/11/2005

Beware of 6Ave.com02 Dec 2005 09:14 GMT6
Be wary when dealing with 6Ave.com.  I ordered a camera said to be in stock.
When I called three days later to see if it had shipped they said they were
still waiting on shipment from Fuji.  Their website still lists the camera
as being in stock.
same old ? battery drain...02 Dec 2005 06:32 GMT4
Can someone enlighten...the CCD is the biggest drain. Is reading and
writing to memory card the next biggest drain or the LCD?
There are also flash cards that claim faster speeds and low battery
consumption.
User Report: Canon SD30 digital camera02 Dec 2005 04:08 GMT1
I have been using a Canon SD30 for about a week now. Here are my

the gift of a video montage. I am compiling 100-150 photos from
years past to include with background music and transitions/fades.
I have some basic skills with Photoshop CS2. I purchased an

I was in a camera store the other day trying out camera bags and
placed my digital camera in the bag the same way as always, lens to
the side, base down. The salesman said no no, always place it in the
bag lens down, LCD up, its better for the camera. Seems like all the
