xd cards with "type m"  designation04 Dec 2005 02:44 GMT3
In the stores this weekend, the only xd memory cards available for
digital cameras were designated "type m".
Does anyone know what "type m" means and are the "type m" cards
compatible with cameras that are not "type m" designated?

I'm trying to take photos of nude women, but it does not work:
When I asked a girl on the street if I can take nude photos of her, she
kicked me in the balls and hit me on my head with my digicam.
Then I bought a new cam, went to the beach and started taking photos of

Nikon coolpix 4300 - Keeps shutting off after each picture03 Dec 2005 18:58 GMT3
I have had this camera for almost 3 years and it has been great.  For
some reason, it now wants to shut off after and even before a picture.
I get it focused and then boom, it shuts down.  I can wait and it will
come back but it takes some time.  This seems to be a new problem and

Lightness / Darkness of Images03 Dec 2005 17:55 GMT3
This was inspired by "Just Visiting" below, with the dark JPGs. Since I view
my images (Canon Ixus 700) on my PC screen, which has a variable brightness
control, how do I know whether the images are at the correct brightness?
I might view it as OK, get it printed professionally ...
Discussions about Pro Show Producer?03 Dec 2005 15:37 GMT5
I am rapidly developing a passion for Photodex's new digital video editing
package and am a bit dismayed that there is not a dedicated newsgroup for
it. Does this forum attract many earnest users of it? If not, does anyone
here know of a forum that does? Many thanks...
Removing Dust from Sony P20003 Dec 2005 15:26 GMT2
I love this camera, but I keep getting dust blurs on pictures (about
once a month).  After sending it off for a cleaning (under warranty)
twice, I heard about using a high powered vacuum to remove the dust
particles around the telescoping lens.  I found a great solution -- it

Cheap camera for grandparents03 Dec 2005 11:10 GMT11
I'm looking to buy a camera for my grandparents. Here are some
criteria. I was hoping the forum could help me find the right camera:
  - Their sight isn't excellent so the a big LCD would be great.
  - They don't know much about photography so a real simple point and
When to use smaller aperture?03 Dec 2005 09:17 GMT47
My Olympus C5050 offers a max aperture of f1.8, and I usually shoot at that
or very close to it.  With those settings I'm very comfortable setting the
shutter speed on the fly for the specific conditions.  Given the difficulty
of learning the relationship of aperture to shutter ...

I am intrigued with the D200 which will be released for sale shortly.
How long a run will Nikon have with this camera based on past models?
