Shirt Poctet Camera09 Dec 2005 01:48 GMT11
My husband likes his teeny, tiny 1.3 mp camera he can carry in his shirt
pocket. I'm going to surprise him with an ultra-compact, higher mp digicam
this Christmas.
I'm aware of all the usual review sites out there but I'd like to hear some

Canon zoom lenses?08 Dec 2005 22:51 GMT21
I thought I'd made my mind up about lenses and was going for the Canon
70-200 F4 L USM.
I now see the Canon 70-300 IS F4-5.6 is about £100 cheaper and may fit my

Nikon FC-E908 Dec 2005 22:01 GMT2
I'm contemplating getting a Nikon FC-E9 fisheye attachment for a Nikon
8400, intending to use it as an ultra-wide angle (not a fisheye as
such).  I plan to de-fish the image to get rectilinear perspective.
But before I buy this quite expensive lens I'd like to try out the
Can Post Processing ' Upgrade' camera??!08 Dec 2005 21:17 GMT4
On the subject of upgrading cameras, say to a later, or different
version, which is said to provide better photo quality. It occurs to me
that post processing images from the ealier model might have the effect
of 'levelling up' the difference, so that this can catch up with the
Big problems trying to printing B&W pictures on Canon i86508 Dec 2005 18:32 GMT9
I have been able to print (via Photoshop) several B&W pictures a couple
of months ago on my Canon i865 and today I tried again to do so on
various photo papers : Canon Glossy Paper, Fujifilm Multijet Satin, and
another Kodak Glossy paper.

"weather"/spray resistant covers...08 Dec 2005 17:09 GMT9
Does anyone know of a weather and/or spray resistant camera
and lens covers for the Canon 20D? I thought I'd seen a reference
to one here a few weeks back, but Google is not helping.
EOS 5D "C" for custom mode query08 Dec 2005 17:00 GMT10
I've had my 5D for a few weeks now, and have realised that I don't
understand what the custom mode is for, nor how it works.
If one turns the mode dial to "C", then it appears as though you're in some
sort of "P"rogram mode.  So what happens if you really prefer to use "Av" ?
Bad or unrecognised image header.08 Dec 2005 16:17 GMT1
I have problems opening some of my JPEG files. When I´m trying to open
them in ACDsee, it says "bad or unrecognised image header", and no
image shows up.
Is there any way I will ever get to see my pictures again???
temporary storage for photos08 Dec 2005 16:05 GMT24
Rather than continue to purchase memory cards, I am looking at some
temporary storage device.
In particular, the Vosonic 2610 range and the 6210 ranges:-
The latter appear to be bout double the first, and I cannot see what the
D-50 and Depth of Field preview?08 Dec 2005 15:28 GMT2
Is anyone else using a D-50?  The specs in the book mention a
depth-of-field preview under the Lens Aperture catagory.  Am I not
finding a button somewhere on the camera body or are they just refering
to the depth-of-field marks on the Nikkor lenses?  I'm used to the
I'm about to buy a Canon ip8500 printer. Any feedback would be appreciated.08 Dec 2005 14:08 GMT7
Maybe I'm reading to much into Steves Digicam's conclusion on the
Canon ip8500.

Dilema08 Dec 2005 08:17 GMT9
Now I realise this is like asking someone what their favorite shade of
white is, however I'm still going to do it.
Currently own a Sony DSC P1 from 4000 years ago. Does a good job, but
