5D price drop continues...17 Dec 2005 23:30 GMT12
Adorama has the Canon 5D for under $3K. Then again, you all probably knew
this.
Can't wait to see the price next March. I may actually begin to consider to
think about maybe getting around to considering whether or not I should
Want alternative ideas - dissappointed with Oly506017 Dec 2005 23:01 GMT41
Just taken another set of indoor shots and find they are so dark even the
photo software struggling to cheer up. I don't want to fiddle with the
controls. My old Kodak 280 zoom never had a problem but too old and shots
too poor to use.

Educating customers17 Dec 2005 21:50 GMT9
I have a business related question -
My wife sends me potential photography clients all the time. A great
many of them think that my photography is a hobby and I'd basically be
willing to do what they want for free.

Here are a few winter shots with the S2:

Some minor editing has been done.  I used the snow setting for
some of them.  This seems to boost red and yellow quite a bit.  (In
Win98 (Original Edition): Camera and Card Reader Software17 Dec 2005 15:59 GMT4
I notice that almost all camera and card reader software now specifies
Win98 (Second Edition) as a minimum requirement.
The software with my Canon A95 said that either would do, and before I
got my new Win XP computer it worked quite happily under the original 98.

My wife started having contractions on Tuesday, November 22nd. She's
not due until December 14th but it was a good reminder that we need to
start preparing for the big day. Bags need to be pre-packed, directions
to babysitters, phone numbers, and pre-registration paperwork all need

Advice on SD Cards17 Dec 2005 14:52 GMT1
My daughter is buying a Canon PowerShot SD300 (IXUS 40) digital camera
and wants a 1GB card because she will be travelling.
Will a SanDisk Standard do the job or does she need the higher speed
Ultra II to take advantage of the camera's DIGIC II processor?
Lens Fun17 Dec 2005 13:14 GMT2
I was board the other night and the weather has restricted outdoor shooting
so I took these shots by placing my old Oly Zuiko 50mm f/1.8 in front of my
EF 50mm f/1.8 lens.  Focus was done by moving closer or farther away from
the subject.  Light was provided by my 580ex.

Repairing my camera17 Dec 2005 12:39 GMT1
I have an Olympus digital camera (3.2 megapixel, purchased may 2004), which
stopped working last sunday.
The problem is, it was on a table, switched on, when the batteries went
dead. Now the camera doesn't work at all anymore, but the lense is still
photo collage17 Dec 2005 12:00 GMT9
I'm looking for software that does a REAL collage of my pix. Not like
what Picasa does. (Another case of we don't know how to do that with
software, so we'll just call something else entirely by that name.) I
want something where I can "cut" digital images however I want, then
