How is spot metering supposed to be used? Isn't it mostly for close-up
scenes? My first camera with this gizmo.
(I get a blurry pic with long distance scenes. I suspect it is not supposed
to be used for "landscape" type scenes.)

I wish to know websites that has some some free softwares or can
deliver a customised/personalised photo calendar free, in
India...(wherein, I can see my personal pictures every month).

Are there any competitors to the sony DSC-R1 -- large sensor with live
preview? Hopefully, a smaller camera with video clip feature as well.

I'm probably nuts, but I want to give my 5 year old son a digital camera for
Christmas. Any small and exceptionally rugged point & shoots out there?

Almost convinced to get the Fuji F11 but purple fringing seems a little bit
