They reviewed it, liked the resolution, but said that noise levels
even at 100 ISO were "unacceptable."  To give you an idea of what
they consider unacceptable, the Rebel XT at 1600 was deemed as
noisy at that setting.  The commented that Panasonic's line all

Does anyone have any experience with the Sigma EF 500 DG ST flash for
the Canon 350D?  I should appreciate you opinions of this flash: I am
thinking of buying one.

smart media 3.3V question ?21 Dec 2005 02:17 GMT9
I have decided to bring my old Fuji MX-1200 back to life as a second camera.
Problem is i went and bought a 64mb Smart Media card for it and the camera
says "No Card" !. The 8mb and 2mb cards work ok. The only difference that i
can see between the cards is that the 2 and 8 Mb ones ...
cheap dv firewire reader?21 Dec 2005 00:34 GMT1
I recently burned out the firewire circuit in a sony camcorder.  I'd
rather just get a cheap dv2firewire reader if such a thing exists.  Has
anyone heard of such a thing?  I know of the expensive dv players, but
I just basically need the tape mechanism and the firewire upload part.
Which D-SLR would you choose?21 Dec 2005 00:33 GMT32
I'm a neophyte digital camera user, trying to decide which digital SLR
camera to buy.  I am considering two options, both priced roughly the
same:
1) A friend's used Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro w/ Nikon Zoom Telephoto
CF reader now states inserted card not formatted (wrongly)20 Dec 2005 23:19 GMT13
After using a Belkin USB CF reader for some time with no problems, it now
informs me that any card inserted is not formatted. I've removed and then
reinstalled the drivers, and the LED indicator on the drive suggests that
all is functioning correctly - is this our old friend XP ...
Suggestions for software to download from camara? I don't like Zoombrowser...20 Dec 2005 22:08 GMT6
I recently purchased a Canon SD550.  It comes bundled with Zoombrowser
for managing downloads, however, I do not like this program and wonder
if anyone here could offer some alternatives?
Specifically, all I want to be able to do is define the filenames based
Corrupt Canon S2IS movie clips and WinXP crashes20 Dec 2005 20:57 GMT11
Some of my video clips do crash WinXP SP2, seemingly as soon as Windows
Explorer reads in the file info, when opening the folder where it is placed.
(I have Windows Media Player 10 for playing the movie clips.)

Blur and Snow with Canon SD40020 Dec 2005 20:14 GMT4
Today, I took a handful of snapshots (I wouldn't call them
photographs) without paying too much attention and found they were
incredibly blurry when I transferred them to my computer. (I hadn't
paid too much attention when I took them.)
Questions on Camera Specifications20 Dec 2005 18:11 GMT4
Got a question on focal length. (i'm keen on getting the Canon
PowerShot S2 IS, so will be using this camera as reference to
understand more about those specs.)
The camera has a focal length of 36 (W) -  432 (T) mm. Now, i
