Analogue Lenses on Digital Body25 Dec 2005 09:22 GMT76
Jessops (Strand Branch, London) tells me that all of the Pentax SLR
analogue (aka traditional 35mm film) lenses that I have - zoom,
fisheye, macro, etc. - are unsuitable for digital use. Is this a

Crop Happy Photo Lab25 Dec 2005 00:42 GMT9
My local photo lab prints images from digital sources at 300 DPI, so I
created a 1500 x 2100 image in the hopes of getting a 5"x7" print back (I
even specified, 5"x7" on the order). .
The print was of my dog, and since his paws were close to the bottom of the
Pacific Digital Photo Frame (MF-810) keeps getting "Damaged slide" error24 Dec 2005 23:55 GMT5
I purchased a Digital Photo Frame (or Memory Frame) made by Pacific
Digital. It's a model MF-810 (Memory Frame 8x10).
I bought one of these same units last summer for my parents. We
uploaded a bunch of family photos and gave it as a birthday present.

Help!24 Dec 2005 20:21 GMT5
OK - I'm a DSLR fan and I'm looking for a digital p&s carry-around compact.
I'd like manual control, excellent resolution with post-processing
accessibility and decent wide-anlge capability.  I've been considering the
Canon S70 or S80 (prefer the S70 for the CF support) and the Sony ...

Canon 17-40L or 17-85 IS?24 Dec 2005 19:15 GMT30
I have a Canon 300D (Digital Rebel) with the (awful) kit lens. I want to
get a better everyday walkaround lens. I'm very much an armature trying
to improve.
I've looked at the 17-40L or the EF-S 17-85 IS. The 17-40L seems to be
panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ3024 Dec 2005 11:27 GMT2

ISO?24 Dec 2005 11:14 GMT11
Could someone explain the ISO setting?
When I used to shoot film, many years ago, I used to shoot at 1600ASA on
400ASA film, and make adjustments during the film processing. I was
under the impression that adjusting the ASA setting on the dial, simply
Stitching photos of small objects24 Dec 2005 06:16 GMT7
Most of the stitched photos that I have seen have been of landscape

photos.

Red in the face......24 Dec 2005 04:37 GMT8
Hi everyone.  I've been using a Panasonic fz20 for the past year.  When I
take flash shots of faces, I get red hues on all the high points....cheek
bones, nose, forehead, etc.  For the most of you, who are a lot more
experienced than I, is this a technique problem or a flash ...

This makes two orders in a row they screwed up - the first a calendar
