Digital camera newbe25 Nov 2005 18:42 GMT2
I am considering getting a Canon Powershot A520 as my first digital camera.
Is this camera as good as the reviews I see on the internet, or are there
others I should be looking into?
I'm looking for an easy to use camera that will use rechargeable AA
20D, auto teleconverter, manual lens: Err 0025 Nov 2005 18:32 GMT2
I have a Canon 20D and a Kenko 2X Pro 300 teleconverter.  The Kenko
works fine with all of my non-"S" lenses, but a problem occurs when
I try to use it with a manual lens (actually a 3.5"
Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope).  When I try to use the Kenko/MCT
Canon A610 as companion to Rebel?25 Nov 2005 17:12 GMT3
I have the original 6MP Rebel and the Fujifilm A330 3MP very basic camera.
The A330 does a good job with image quality and has a good lens (no fringing
or soft corners and such). Another big plus is the fact that I can put in
any garden variety AA alkaline batteries and go ...
Ultra II vs Sandisk base model25 Nov 2005 17:09 GMT5
In Canada (Toronto), a Sandisk 1G Ultra II SD card is 30% more than a
Sandisk 1G (base model) SD card ($160.00 vs $120.00). Is the Ultra II worth
the extra cost?
Any suggestion where can I find the best-priced SD card in Toronto? TIA.
Non-SLR with good viewfinder?25 Nov 2005 16:46 GMT13
Does anyone have any experience with a compact (non-SLR) digital that
has a viewfinder you can actually use? I very much prefer shooting
through the viewfinder rather than using the screen, but it's virtually
impossible to compose a decent shot through the viewfinder of my rather
Best Photo Resolution for Website Photos25 Nov 2005 16:42 GMT10
What is the best resolution for taking photos for posting on a
website?
Unless the photos are for blowing up orusing as wallpaper, etc., it
would seem that the best resolution would be the lowest, provided the
Fuji Finepix S5200 or Canon Powershot A61025 Nov 2005 16:24 GMT6
I've narrowed my choices to the two cameras above.
The camera will be used for different types of subjects (scenery, closups of
flowers, landscapes), but mostly to take pictures of our nephew (two year
old). So It needs to start-up fast and take pictures quickly. Also I need to

Ofoto / Kodak quality.25 Nov 2005 16:14 GMT15
I purchased a Sony 5MP camera a few years back.  It came with free
prints from Snapfish.  I've been using Snapfish all this time, except
once when I developed from Walmart 1 hour service.
Last week I decided to see how much better Ofoto/Kodak is over

Fujifilm Finepix S5200/5600 or S9000/9500?25 Nov 2005 13:39 GMT11
So... I've been seriously considering the Digital Rebel XT for the
longest time, but do I really need the hassle of carrying around a
couple extra lenses?  So I decided to go with a digital camera with
(hopefully) comparable features.
A few Canon Digital Rebel XT Questions.25 Nov 2005 13:38 GMT18
1.  White balance for compact fluorescent lighting:  I have found that the
tungsten setting looks most realistic, but still slightly off.  Is there a
better way when stuck using this type of light?
2.  The EFS18-55mm kit lens:  Is it normal that there is a bit of backlash
Canon Lenses in UK25 Nov 2005 13:14 GMT22
Can anyone suggest some decent lens suppliers in the UK.
I'm not too keen on buying quality lenses from eBay.
Thanks
Steven.
Don't use Pixmania25 Nov 2005 12:38 GMT16
I just thought i'd share the worst customer service i've ever received
with you (I'm nice like that!) - No, seriously if i can stop anyone
using Pixmania, and making that same mistake as me, i'd be doing
humanity a favour.
Olympus C3000 Zoom with Windows XP ?25 Nov 2005 12:27 GMT17
I have an Olympus C-3000 Zoom camera that I've been using (with
Camedia Master 2.0) for the last 4-5 years on a computer running
Windows 2K. A few days ago, I got a new computer with Windows XP and I
can't get things set up so that pictures can be uploaded to the
